I’m sure this is true. But JDR earned his pink slip, not just b/c the D flopped in ‘17 (going from #6 to #32 in turnovers and #19 to #28 in points per drive) or b/c be lost the locker room in WA, but also b/c of the utter shit drafts he and Red compiled in ‘16 and ‘17 and ‘15 after the Cooper pick.
 
Carrbage just isn’t a playmaker. He can’t buy time in the pocket, he doesn’t make plays with his legs. He needs everything to be perfect to make a play. Anytime he rolls right out of the pocket, I already know the plays over and he’s going to launch it in the stands. Smh.

All through the playoffs, when that happened to Burrows, he found a way to make a play instead of throwing it away. And they’ve been successful. Even on the whistle play against us. You need plays like that, plays like that could be the difference in the outcome of games. Carr will never be that type of player. It is what it is.

I agree with all of this except perfection. The OL has been poor for 2 years and we’ve seen Carr play his best football with good weaponz.
 
If you adjust the OL play by removing the time they were on the field (Carr's fault) they were actually a top 5 unit.

This line will never be good enough. This just proves my theory. He needs better players to make him better. Burrow got sacked 9 times against the Titans, but at the end of the game, he found ways to make plays and win the game. This would NEVER happen with Carr.

Even when he's peak Carr and you guys really get gargling all over him (You know for that 2 or 3 week stretch every season or two?) He's not really good enough.

Spit out all the bullshit metrics you want, blame all the coaches, coordinators, lineman and defensive players you want.

It wont fix him.

Maybe in year 9 though!
