The Todd Downing Thread

You are way off. Crawford came to the Sox as a big money FA - and fell flat on his face. He could'nt hit and his defense sucked.
Sox fans boo'd his ass - not cause he's black -
but because he was a fraud that couldn't play under the bright lights in a market that scutinizes it's players.

Jim rice was the 'man'. Career cut short because of bad vision. Still employed by NESN the sports network owned by the Sox
Crawford made mention of racist comments made towards him, which I don't doubt at all. Sox fans were shitty towards Rice back in the day.

Boston is an Aaasome city. If you have spent any amount of time in that area, you would know it's not a racist town and probably one of the best big city's to live in.
I grew up about 3 hours from Boston (VT) and I can say whiteout question, Boston sucks ass. Called Massholes for a reason.

Rating each team's QB situation by ESPN. Raiders ranked #11. Statistics are good but there's a lot of room for improvement for Carr

11. Oakland Raiders
Derek Carr in the offseason, so they're confident in him. And he's on track for career highs in completion percentage, yards per attempt and Total QBR. His interceptions are up since last season, but they almost had to be, with the season not going the way the Raiders hoped it would. Still, they remain confident in Carr, who's just 26 and likely to be their guy for a long time. EJ Manuel and Connor Cook form a better backup group than what a lot of teams hav

isn't mckoy a zone blocking guy? do we need that here? The broncos O has completely sucked this season. Even with pro bowl tackle Melink Watson (ok that's a joke) their run game has sucked. Yes their QB's aren't great but they've under performed as much as we have if that's possible.

How could this move possible help us?

We all remember -- or should -- the Raiders' brief dalliance with zone blocking. As I recall, it didn't go well.

Multiple dalliances. Every one of which screwed the line and depth for years.

However, zone techniques are more common in offensive playbooks today. I think all teams employ them at some point, might not rely on them exclusively, but...

Hatin' on short men with moustaches from Bahston.. Ah, thats what the holiday seasons all about fellas.. that and.... eggnog

Yup.. nobody knows what that shits all about... but it's fuckin everywhere this time of the year-

Eggnog was invented by an evil mastermind whose plan was to destroy good whiskey.

nah, it was a great plan to get rid of bad whiskey.

Nothing more frustrating than watching someone take a real nice whiskey and drowning it in coke/ginger ale. As I tell people that's why god invented Jamesons.
Wait.What?

Raiders commit to OC Downing for rest of 2017
12152.jpg

Coach Jack Del Rio announced OC Todd Downing will remain with the Raiders the remainder of the season.

Ex-OC Bill Musgrave was let go at the end of last season, as the Raiders failed to even make him an offer as a free agent coach. The move was made in order to promote Downing, who was believed to be a riser in the coaching ranks. His first season running the show in Oakland has been a total disaster. Derek Carr has taken multiple steps back and looks like one of the most overpaid players in the league, while Amari Cooper has been a non-factor most weeks. Oakland is 19th in total offense, 15th in passing, and 26th in rushing. Downing may be one-and-done, with Del Rio possibly on the hot seat as well.
