OK I get it I'm off the Herbert wagon!

And my Haskins jihad is crashing right behind it.

Clearly I'm not a quarterback guru. My strengths are all the other positions obviously.

Horrible year for QBs.
yep and good we won’t be tempted to do it now, but anything is possibe with this dumb ass group. It’s actually lining up perfect for us to grab some talent but still suck next year and then grab a QB.

Watch Herbert have a HOF career....

Anyone else think of Gorf when they here Goff's name

I thought Wentz was the cats meow and the Rams got it wrong. I didn't pay enough attention to Mahones.

Big mistake to stick with Carr next season. More wasted money and more wasted talent that GruDog May obtain in the off season and draft.

It’s too early to say but why do people dislike Herbert?

Have you watched Herbert lately amigo?

He's really looking similar to Carr the last month.

Inaccurate passes, poor decisions, Dink and dunk supreme style lately.

He's also come up small against two beatable teams and boosted his numbers late in games to make his stat line look reasonable to onlookers.

I was on the fence before...But he really needs another year of refinement IMO.

Also I do agree: My biggest nightmare is having Carr at QB in 2019. I'd rather anyone else. He's just wasting our time. But Herbert isnt gonna change that.

I think we take a QB mid round regardless of what Gruden thinks about Carr. He’s going to want a developmental guy to eventually be the backup if nothing else.

Funny that we spent all offseason looking at Cook and EJ only to trade for AJ.

OK fair enough on Herbert. Has he ever looked good? Can your opinion of him change between now and the end of the college season? Or is your assessment final.

Although I have not watched a lot of college football I think that all the QB's in this coming draft as in all drafts have flaws in their game.

So your basically saying you see another Carr in Herbert. I guess we'll have to wait and see how the talent evaluation process shakes out by draft time or sooner.

Herbert has all the height, weight, arm and speed assets. The question is the toughness and leadership qualities. By what I've read he's a biology major and does have the smarts. I also understand he is vocal leader.

No not final at all I was all aboard his train early on. He looked great early. If you are doing it right the board is fluid. He can bounce back and show some more development. He's 21 not 28 or whatever like Carr. Far from a finished product for good or bad.

Look at Quinnen Williams. I could not find a mock putting him in round one from September through October...Now he's surpassed Ed Oliver and is the next Suh according to many...

I'm 100 percent honest here I think I propped Herbert and Haskins up a bit more because of my dislike for Carr. I think both guys ::Can be::: great prospects but they both need another year in school to refine things. They are not ready to play for various reasons.

Herbert does check all the boxes physically. He has Wentz-like potential. But he needs coaching. I don't like his decision making or accuracy lately and he does dump it off way too much when the going gets tough. I think if he declares he goes top 5 either way. Someone will draft him early with his skill set. I like the flawed Herbert we see right now more than a guy like Josh Allen last year.

I don't think our team is the right spot for those QB's. We have to wait a year even though I hate it.

What if the Raiders drafted Herbert but also signed a good veteran for Herbert to sit behind and develop?

I know it sounds like I'm sold on Herbert. But I think he has an IT factor. I can't explain it. I just want a QB that is cool under pressure like Rogers in G.B. Nothing seems to bother Rogers. He has the same disposition whether he's up by 30 points or down by 30. He doesn't get rattled.

We haven't had that kind of QB since Ken Stabler.

I've seen some of the highlights of these other QB's. But they each seem like just another guy.

Personally I think your hoping it works at that point. For me he has to look like a top 10 guy in order to be drafted in the top 10. Maybe if we had a tried and true system that has proven to work with different QB's like Andy Reid's you take the risk on the upside. With Gruden... ehhh...

Right now I wouldn’t draft Herbert in the top 10.

Opinions may vary but that’s where I’m at.

As far as a veteran pick one. I’m open to all of em as long as Carr is gonzo
