O-Line Thread

I think you just draft OT and don't focus on what side they played on. They still do the same things. The line between left and right is blurred now. You could easily see 4 OT's go before our 25th pick.

It's a lot more than that dude ..it's all about foot work ..if you can get a guy that played four years at right tackle that went against Premier defensive ends you take him and you leave them there.. like I said he's a better Prospect than Rob havenstein ..who's had a great career at right tackle.. I want my Lincoln Kennedy back....and I want him now... and that player is David Edwards

I cant help but shake the feeling that Gruden is going to draft LT Jonah Williams from Alabama. Parker is absolute trash and Kolton doesn't look much better. I would assume that MAYBE we have one starting RT between the both of them right now. As much of a kick in the dick pants that is, I dont think we can assume the LT spot is handled anymore.

If Gruden is really in love with Carr and wants to keep him. Williams might end up being the pick. Throw him at LT and move Kolton to RT and back-up LT. Parker is the swing tackle slash water girl.

FML

I didnt enjoy posting this btw. But it makes enough sense that it could happen.
Fuck around and watch Gruden go:

1. J.Williams
2. N.Fant
3. DJ Metcalf
4. D.Montgomery

with our first four picks and say fuck defense officially. Mofo will even throw in a round 3-4 QB.

“Maybe we have one starting RT between the two of them right now”

-Not how you build a good team or what anyone wanted to hear in December

Draft good players don’t pigeon hole positions other wise you reach and pay the price.

The sad thing is @BigTron an argument can be made for OT/RB/WR really easily. TE too if Cook is smart and leaves. This roster is bad and needs every position except Center.

I have zero issue getting an OT early, but I do think we may be best served holding off until our 20's picks or maybe our 2nd or 3rd round picks. Depending on how things fall in the draft for us.

If Bosa or Williams are gone when we pick? Whatcha Gonna Do.

Take the best player on the board. If that's Williams so be it. Can't be mad at that. Sure it might mean we get a lesser prospect at DE, but who knows, maybe we get lucky and grab a DE in FA. Or maybe use one of our 1st round picks to acquire a good DE that has already proven themselves, or who knows maybe we use a pick to solidify that OT position the same way.

Lots of options for us to obtain the players we need, especially when we have 3 picks in the 1st round. Maybe Jax wants to move up bad enough to part with a guy like Miles Jack as part of a package, or maybe NY wants to move up and is willing to part with (ummm.) Or how about Tampa?? Maybe has something we would like I dunno..

I can't envision a draft worse than that. I say that but I know Gruden will manage to do even worse.

We should not even be considering offensive tackle.

We took 2 in the top 65 last year.

Fuck all these decision makers in the face.

Sucks seeing OL become more and more of a position that can’t be ignored right when defense is making a comeback.

David Edwards possesses an NFL frame. In the run game, he’s a mauler on combo blocks and when he’s asked to punish in man-on-man situations.

Edwards engages defenders with aggression, and while that tendency can appear to a bit much at times, he’s rarely caught off balance when opening rushing lanes.

Beyond his plus movement skills, another strength of Edwards’ game is his awareness in pass protection. He’s unfazed by stunts or delayed blitzes from second or third level defenders. Edwards used his length to his advantage by keeping pass rushers at bay.

Edwards could be one of the first offensive tackles selected. Like Biadasz, I expect him to go in the first or second round.

I like the kid a lot, but he has a bit of that skanky false step thing.

Heres a great breakdown of running and passing plays of the kid... The kids gonna be a fuckin stud... not a sexy pick.. I dig that but man, you can plug that dude in at RT from day one and you'll never have to ever worry about him having a bad day... Although Parker had a great game... I'd still take Edwards late 1st or with that 2nd rd pick keep Parker as a upper tier backup... which you need to have to win a championship... depth... I said it before and I'll say it again.. He's a white Lincoln Kennedy

I don't mind taking one later on. Maybe the Cajuste kid from WVa

David Edwards just now as well...
I think Ford would be a great get for our RT spot. Let Parker and Miller figure out the LT spot and put the dancing bear in at RT.

Ford can play inside or out too.

Good idea.
