I think we might get a good year out of Jelly.
Hopefully we get that "Albert Haynesworth in a contract year" effort.

I'm starting to see your point here but in the end I don't think it fits Reggie's philosophy. He'd rather have a couple guys in Latham and Hester developing than a better player right now that is on the decline.
If any player on the Raiders roster is afraid of flying, they might want to think about asking for a trade because Oakland is going to be spending more time in the air in 2017 than any other NFL team. The Raiders will be traveling a total of 32,876 miles this season, which is more than the Steelers, Bengals, Packers and Lions will travel combined in 2017 (30,712 miles).
The Raiders' plane, which is chartered by Hawaiian Airlines, is going to get a serious workout this year.

Just tell the players not to get too friendly with the 6'2" stewardess with the size 13 shoes. They might be in for a rude surprise.
I don't get this... So your're saying they are a bad fit because the coach like just about any coach would prefer guys that know how to be pro's.... Yet our GM, who has surrounded the team with vets across all levels except ILB isn't a fit for our coach... I guess you could say also say no vet depth along the interior DL this year but, the previous years we've had a vet to lean on along the DL too.Which is why he and Del Rio are such a bad fit IMO. Reggie wants to build and replace through the draft while JDR, like a lot of coaches, wants guys that already know how to be a pro.
The Rams have more miles, I think Arizona has more as well.If any player on the Raiders roster is afraid of flying, they might want to think about asking for a trade because Oakland is going to be spending more time in the air in 2017 than any other NFL team. There has to be a general agreement in terms of how to approach building the team. Yes, Reggie's added vets to fill gaps or because they were a premier player but as a general rule he's chosen to let drafted players fill roles even when veteran upgrades have been on the market. JDR seems at odds with that. I think about the comments both made were made when Jihad was drafted. Reggie said he was going to play and JDR pointed out how raw he was. Both were right but I think it's a good example of their individual philosophies. Another example was their respective takes in the MLB situation. Right now it might serve as healthy discourse but we'll see if/when the heat gets turned up.
Red's one year "prove it deals" and "nickle and diming" on the defensive side of the ball have not exactly been a blue print for success. Coupled with some head scratching picks the defense has not improved one iota since he's been here.
well it does have a reigning defensive MVP... but your point is taken.
Good examples. I'd imagine it's the same across the league unless you have a coach that's been around his team for an extended period of time. I don't think even Red thought that Ward would be required to play as much as he did. I do agree with Jack in that we have not solved the ILB position yet. I think it says injuries and one fat bastard showed up last year after a 6 month buffet binge. (Williams)When you have the DPOY and still don't improve, it says a lot...

Carr's a stud. He had noticeable game and personality deficiencies in college, and as a rookie. Not many QBs overcome such things and play at a high level in the NFL. He's developed his positive traits and minimized his deficiencies. The game has slowed down for him. He knows where he wants to go with the ball. He knows his progressions. He has an amazingly quick release, a strong arm and a seemingly still improving touch on the ball.
Not that I like the GM but the blue print is the Peyton Colts with a better O-line...Red's one year "prove it deals" and "nickle and diming" on the defensive side of the ball have not exactly been a blue print for success.
