Welcome to the team - Lynn Bowden

Booker is better at catching the ball than running the ball though. I’m so confused. o_O

Booker was a highly productive college RUNNING BACK. He also has 300 NFL carries & legit size at 220. Im not saying he is any good but he is more developed at RB than Bowden by a long shot. Richard has fumble issues and is a small guy. He won't be able to carry the load in any scenario where Jacobs goes down. Plus he is the third down back currently.

Same reason Mayock sniffed around Gore and some other vets. I don't hate Bowden btw, just think your #2 RB should be ready to start week 1 regardless of Jacobs health. I don't see anyone who has that resume besides Booker (who didn't get much of a shot in Denver)

TLDR: Booker catches passes yes, but carried the load for an offense at RB in college w 2800 rushing yards & another 300 carries and 1k in the NFL. Experience is key.

Bowden could surprise us tho. He has the "it" factor with the ball in his hands. He also has patience and vision which are two great RB traits that are just natural. He can feel the defense. I just wonder if he has NFL toughness or quicks.

If he returns kicks and can be the pass catcher/pass blocker #3 RB that will be fine w me. No complaints. I want another dude Jacobs caliber or clos next offseason (N.Harris reunion!) You need two beast RBs these days. Especially in the Gruden offense. He was beating Jacobs up last year in some games.

Yep. There are roles. Booker is the backup to Jacobs. Bowden is competing with Richard for snaps. It's 1, 1A, 2, 2B not 1,2,3,4.

Replying to @Raiders @SEC and @LynnBowden_1 He can do it all even sell popcorn at halftime if you need it!! The strongest willed, most aggressive, most talented and hardest working WINNER we've had at UK!! Can't wait to see him put on a show for the Silver and Black!!

Has anyone seen Bowden run between the tackles?

Only in that way wildcat QBs kinda hunch down and slide behind blockers. I don’t think he’s ever going to be someone that’s going to put a LB on his ass but hopefully will leave a few with their jockstraps around their ankles.

Common theme here.
Yep, #MayockKnows: :sneak:

By far my favorite statement by a prospect; our entire rookie class should ascribe to this:

Yeah...not sure why they got dude as a RB...i dont think he can take the punishment running up the gut 10 times a game...

I don’t know I’ve seen him break some tackles on some of his reels. He’s stronger than he looks

Lazy obvious comparison but I don’t see why he can’t handle a Gruden era Charlie Garner workload. Could get pretty fun if both he and Jacobs could get on the field at once. Gonna have to up the pass pro skills though.

I dunno.. he doesnt look like he's built to take a lot of punishing hits from Safeties and LBers... he'll get broke real fast
