Welcome to the team - Lynn Bowden

3rd down RB I guess. I see your point but I gotta think he’ll have a lot less on his plate not trying to lead a team.

There is that, at least.

Which one role is that?

Well if he’s gonna play RB. And has (really good) film as a wildcat QB. And a WR prospect.

Alvin Kamara/Reggie Bush/Jakeem Grant type of role?

You think he has a shot? I’ve never seen anything other than the videos on him in this thread.

A shot? Sure. But I'm not at all optimistic. I honestly have no use for gadget players. Drafting a gadget guy with the intention of teaching him to play RB is a dumb idea, in my view. Doing so with a gadget guy who has problems catching and holding onto the ball, and exposing the latter issue even more by trying to turn him into a punt returner as well is...well...

I don't see it. Don't like it. Don't agree with it.

Gonna depend on how good he performs as a legit RB. I assume if he doesn’t, he will get a shot at WR tho.

Idk. I don’t really have an opinion on him one way or the other. I figured we would get more of a banger at RB.

That was my hope and expectation. I knew there was a good chance we'd prioritize receiving ability over downhill running power, but the Jalen Richard contract seemed to address that.

I guess we should have known better. They were singing Richard's praises way too much for it to have been sincere. Couple o' professional bullshitters we've got running this team.

Fortunately for us, we've got a pretty good run blocking OL. If we need to go junking in search of a short-term Jacobs replacement, we should be able to conjur one up.

...or hold what we've got and tell Carr to go out there and prove he can take the wheel. Sink or swim, bitch.

Seems somewhat redundant with Jalen although I know he can do more. would have much rather used that pick on an interior DL like James Lynch.

I was thinking about that this morning. Why? Because I’m convinced Mayock had a Big Board of maybe 10 players with a few fall back options.

Mayock clearly targeted and got Ruggs, Arnette, Bowden, Muse and Simpson. Mayock loved both Edwards and Robertson, but I think it is more accurate to say they fell into his lap.

Who at #80 should Mayock have targeted if not Bowden I asked myself. I think you’re right that DL was an alternative. Gillamore (DT) #82 and Lewis (DE) #84 came off the board after we picked Bowden. We are four deep at both DL positions. Apparently, Gruden/Mayock thought we needed another weaponzz more than a 9th DL.

My choice would have been a more traditional 3-down RB. Moss came off the board at #86. Not only would that have helped my ‘lil Al, I think we still need a meat and potatoes back-up RB.

I like Bowden he's a WR/KR/ QB but he is not a Running back I have watched him play, we don't have a backup Running back on this roster. Richard is not a runner at all our front office has no clue.
