Post draft thoughts/breakdown

You colored folk tho' ... Voted for Obama and yer shit broke worse than it was under Dubs... Take hold of the Trump divot and run to greener pastures...

Conley- C+(Guy needs to prove he can handle the slot)
Obi-C(if you can coach the position, he has a future in the pro bowl down the road. If not he's a waste)
Vanderdoes-C(define gamble, but man is this fucka's ceiling high. I mean it's Richard Seymour in his prime high. I'd fuck up myself seeing that and get him in the 2nd round Al Davis style.)
Sharpe-B(I think Tice can get a lot out of him)
Lee-D(Red'd LB drafting is crazy bad and he's a LB. WTF?)
Shuani-C+(has a future in special teams and as an extra safety)
Ware-Inc.(need to see what he does with his athleticism)
Hood-B(low round pick who can fill a legit role well, good pick and may convert into a two position guy as short yardage and fullback).
Hester-C- meh

@Raidermania12 can you elaborate on Vanderdoes? Thoughts of Dick Seymour "in his prime"? What do you see him needing to do to reach that ceiling? Is it more this staff coaching him up or his conditioning? 5 star recruits are rarer than some realize, and he flashed some big time potential in his first two years.

Calm down everyone myself included.
Bones ain't hard to please let's keep the political back and forth down. Which means me not posting memes and photos depicting in any way 45.

Sure, but you'll have to PayPal me 49.99 per month for the insider take.

This whole "draft expert" thing is a real sweet racket. Kiper's gotten rich off it and his batting average (Both in terms of doing mocks and recognizing talent) is no better than some of us. It appears to be the modern day equivalent of a faith healer.

And no offense, RM, but if I'm giving anyone $49.99/month, it's going to involve two girls, a bottle of baby oil, and a hi-def camera...

Whooops....sounds like the Bears got chumped by Lynch in that one spot trade up by.

Real tough draft to figure out. From my perspective, way too many "ifs". If Conley stays outta jail, if Obi wan Jumpy learns the position, if Van fat fuck loses weight and gets healthy, if Cyclops is coached up...

If three of these guys overcome their ifs, red's going to look real good, like genius good. If they don't, his ass on hot seat. We acted like a team heading to Vegas should, like bold ass gamblers.

I like all the players we got. Not disappointed in any of the selections.

But this is a very Al-like draft, everyone is a guy with potential. I have to hope McKenzie and the coaches are on the same page, they are players for what we're trying to do, and the coaches can coach them up.

The last two drafts have been Missouri drafts. The coaches have to "show me" they know what they're doing. They didn't look too good after last year's draft. If they do it two years in a row, they're look more daft than draft.

All of this is conjecture

Can Only grade a draft several years down the road (ex. Raiders 2013 draft = F, 2014 draft = A+)

My only only concern is that first 3 picks can be quality starters. That's it. Other picks are only dressing. If they pan out, just extra

Ex. Obi to neutralize TEs. Would be huge

1. Conley. A-
Although I didn't like going after a CB in round 1 he was one of the 3 best in the draft and well deserving of a selection inside the top 15. To get him by Hook or by Hooker makes no difference. Draft good players, and we did.

2. OBI. B
Solid chess piece, hopefully he's not stuck playing connect 4 when it comes to reading and reacting. Could be a real steal of a pick if he starts doing that more consistently.

3. Vandy. C-
I see his upside and how he may be the best fit for what we want to do. I just can't seem to get the comment I read about him sitting out over a hangnail.. (it was an exaggeration I know) Obviously fills a big need along the DL

4. Sharpe. C+
Has some good tools that you can't teach. Over 35" Arms, are a nice starting point. If we didn't have Tice I wouldn't like this pick as much. I trust Tice to mold him into one of our starting O-Linemen.

5) Lee. C
It's not the player I don't like. I'm fine with Lee. I just wish we could have addressed the position earlier. What we get with Lee is a guy who is damn good against the run and a more than capable blitzer up the middle.

7) Luani. D
I just don't see it. Hopefully I'm wrong and he's a ST stud.

7) Ware. C
I've never heard of the guy, so I'm just giving him a nice solid C. Could mean C U Later or C U Starting in 2 years who knows.

7) Hood. C -
Nothing special about him to me. In the 7th round that's to be expected. PS the guy and see how it goes with Lynch. If Lynch goes down might be real happy we have him.

7) Hester C+
He's not the strongest cat I've watched play this year at his position. Might make make the team as 3 tech. Not holding my breath though.

:pound:

Like Red's odds. He seems to have inside information on Conley. Just hope the DA in Cleveland's a dude and OSU grad. I'm guessing Obi's gonna have specialized tasks that get him on the field early. Vandy already lost the weight. He needs to tightened his ass up, get stronger and learn how to play against men in the NFL, who are going to treat his goofy looking ass poorly. Got nothing on the LT with the eye-patch, except he's playing for the right team and right OL coach.

If we score a few comp picks next year, 2013 won't be a complete loss . . . I hope.
