Music thread

well it all goes back to the old blues guys and everyone else is standing on their shoulders. A lot of people can play fast-- and I mean A LOT, there aren't a lot of guys that can play tasty solos that fit the song and can write good songs. End of the day I can give a shit if you can shred if you can't write. I actually appreciate Van Halen more for his rhythm playing and song writing more than his leads but that's not to say he's not fucking great at that too. One of a kind amazing musician.

When I got older I realized that EVH was like machine playing rhythm.

I have listened to this a bunch but I cant hear any punches. He fucking plays it straight through with no Floyd Rose either. More licks than a dog pound.

Part of this is bands now don't play the bars like they used to. VH had those songs dialed in from years of playing live.

Realized I had never looked up the English translation of O Fortuna.

Read the lyrics in English.

"God damn, dude."

Well, I'm stuck going to see Phil Collins in a couple of weeks so there's that.

She does have better boobs than Peter Gabriel, if that counts for anything...
Right now the local radio station is playing 10 great songs from 1998. One of them was Shimmer by Fuel. I am stunned that is 21 years old already.

I would go to that  He had some good hits. Hopefully he gets behind the kit, he's an amazing drummer.
Saw him once or twice back in the day. Been wondering where he's been.Should be a good show.Remember the 80s? Dude was every where. I think he played drums for Plant too.
