Game Day thread + NY Gee-Men week *2023*

Any fucking word on Facyson? Is that guy ever coming back? Amik getting #1 CB reps is living on the edge. I know Peters tackles like shit, but Amik and Bennett as our #1 and #2 CB could be a train wreck even for Milfman Wilson.

I never said he sucks. I said he sucked, when he did. He's also a stiff, that isn't going to change. I have also always said he did some good things, but listening and understanding nuance are not this place's forte I get that.
Not disliking the guy but I still say he’s not the one. Draft a QB.

Maybe this year they’ll listen to me. #CJ

I'm open to evaluation after his 9 game audition. Mostly likely we still need to draft a guy though you are right. There should be some good prospects where we pick and we can let them duke it out next year. He does some things really well but he also has a physical deficiency... it could be worked around but you better build up that OL and be able to game plan for it.

Did you want to share the point with the class (or me if the class is already in on it). Lol

It was a play on your getting back in to get beat down again comment lol. It also just happens to be a great jam from the golden era too.

That was a great catch. NFW he was running under that.
I just can’t wait to see him featured in a passing game. So far, everything you see him do, from releases to patterns to running with the ball and the acceleration he’s shown … it all looks good. I just think we might’ve stumbled on something.

I know he had trouble with drops in the pre-season. And I know he’s small, although the league is changing in that regard in recent years I think. But I just want to see more to see what we have. He’s looking good.

Dude is electric. I want to see the ball in his hands more.

Yep he should get 4-5 touches a game right now. Never know when he's going to break one.

Van Rotten’s got his hands full next week.

Is Amik too small to play free safety. He has the tackling ability, he is fast, and has the hops & hands to make interceptions. I want him on the field just not as an outside corner.

Interesting, though, in college, KC’s CB Snead, who is bigger and faster than Amik, played safety while Amik played CB.

Moved to safety his last year there. Played corner opposite Amik prior to that, iirc.

Not like we never played players out of position before  Tyler brayton ring a bell, michael huff, marcel reece, ronald curry, (cough cough) grant irons.

I mean, we used Huff exactly how he should have been used and how Texas used him in college. He just wasn’t that good. Curry and Reece didn’t even have positions until we figured out how to use them. I’ll give you Brayton and Irons though.

And "The Judge," Lester Hayes, was moved to corner after playing LB at Texas A&M

I just want to go on record as saying that I put aside and disavow any and every bad thing that I have ever said about Amik Robertson. In the last two games that we’ve taken our grandson to, he’s come up with two HUGE (big…large… tall) interceptions. I can not and will not talk shit about that dude anymore. He’s one of my grandson’s favorite players now.

On the drive down, we were talking about football players and the question was asked “who is your favorite player that’s never going to make the hall of fame, that maybe isn’t mentioned as a “legend” on your own team… but that you absolutely love.”

That question was also asked on the way home. My answer is “Tyrone Wheatley, Greg Biekert and Terry McDaniels.” The grandson? “Amik Robertson.”

So… I apologize, Amik. I am a changed man who regrets the error of his ways.
