Fuck! We Hired Getsy Thread

That someone is us.

Would be funny if we traded for Fields, and then these people start backtracking again, lol. Eberflus was actually the problem, and now these guys are going to blow up together in Vegas. I don't care what they do. Somebody needs to figure it out and make that shit work. Otherwise, we'll be doing this again in two years if not sooner.

Meh…couldn’t fire the quarterback who may not even be backup material at this point. Those of you hoping to trade for Fields deserve what you get. He sucks as a pro.
Excuse me? I never once said nor insinuated that I would trade for Fields. I watch a fair amount of Bears games as I have a lot of family from Chicago and I think Fields is awful, which we seem to agree on. He is incapable of playing in the pocket, hence the reason for all the screens and short passes.

Part of the reason that, while I'm not thrilled with Getsy, I'm willing to give him a chance in a new spot because I think Fields is that bad. I think he is a RB masquerading as a QB.

So DaVante hired the OC after he and Maxx hired AP. At least Mark didn’t make the decision?

Actually as I posted before, I’m not upset. I have a feeling Fields was the issue in a timing based scheme. Not worried at all that they retained the HC but don’t want Luke anywhere near either Fields or the rookie QB.

Hey I didn’t switch teams after Walsh or Knapp.

Fuck it. I’m in. AP’s got this.

When you get left at the alter what do you do?

Step 1: Hook up with a former girlfriend

Step 2: Grind and show up the bitch

Getsy’s staring as the former girlfriend (with connections to Adams/Kelly). He’s stoked the bitch left and he got the job. He wants to please and get the ring.

AP’s bitter and is going to grind. I believe in AP. So I believe he will overcome the bitch. And this will be a speed bump.

Lol we've sure had some buffoons as coordinators over the years. You can't make up the clownery that was the bed & breakfast offense, or Corky costing us a playoff bid by letting Calvin Johnson streak down the field covered by a MLB.

To me it's not about Fields being awful - he is. It's more we just got rid of a guy who insisted players do what he wanted, not adjusted to the players. Getsy didn't even really try to work around the limitations by almost all accounts.

The promising Mooney has disappeared under him, even before Moore came. Kmet's made little progress. And they both had Fields in 21 before Getsy. At least Adams should be happy.

Dennis Allen style, a bad QB gets him fired twice?
There can't be two NFL coaches that dumb.

Hard to do that without talent and pieces that fit. I don’t think you can take away much from that Bears situation. If they wanted a Ravens style offense, they should have hired Greg Roman.

I dunno, excessive screens and runs on 2nd a long seems like something you could alter. I guess we'll see. Hopefully if he blows, he'll be gone after a year earlier in the cycle.

It will be interesting to see what his next OC does with him.

Lack of confidence in a QB leads to play calls fans don’t like. We witnessed that this year first hand.

Sorry that the Fields comment was in response to your post. It was meant to be more of a general comment for anyone thinking about it as a possibility that I tacked on at the end. Wasn’t specific towards you at all.

Maybe he’s not good. Shit, probably. But there’s only so much you can do when your QB not only sucks but actively rejects learning to play the position. How many pre snap adjustments do you think Fields was doing? That is a huge part in play design being effective.
