2017 Free agents

I don't know if legacy or HOF mean anything to Marshawn, but his brand does mean something to him, and coming back and sucking would not be part of the plan.

Yea I'd gamble the 4th rounder on one year of Richardson. Resign next year if he works out.

Especially since he's in a contract year. I'd pull the trigger on that.

It's a no brainer as long as Red can finagle the cap. Much better than giving a high draft pick to Seattle for Sherman. Can draft LB and DB with the first three picks then.

Not interested in giving a high pick for a 29 year old corner with an attitude. Plus there isn't any corner worth $14 million. Seattle thinking the same thing.

Considering the gaping hole at DT, Id use a 4th on Richardson. Do it Reggie.

I still wonder why Odrick hasn't had any sniffs? He should be able to give a team some solid snaps.

I'm not giving up a 4th before the draft. If when we are picking we were not able to address the position with someone we liked and there isn't a player we really like available go for it. Even still you might find in the 5th if they have not found a trade partner for him you might still be able to get him. Might need to spice up the trade with a conditional pick next year as well. Say a 3rd if he makes Pro Bowl and we resign him.

Apparently he wants 100 million, has off the field shit, some injury concerns and coming off a bad year. So the Jets dont have a ton of leverage. He is gone and they likely are ok with a comp pick. Maybe you trade for him and then collect your comp pick to replace the one you spend if he doesnt re-sign.

AKA

trade a 4th, 1 year rental, doesnt work out, get a comp pick

Yep

Odrick is an OK rotational piece. but like Hankins - he's never going to be an Impact guy. I think red doesn't value the rotational pieces highly (we got a lot of mileage out of late picks like McGee and UDFAs like Autry).
