The 2018 Free Agency Thread

I'm a big fan of Tyler Eiferts game. If he can stay healthy hes a top 5 TE. I'd ditch Cook in a heartbeat for Eif.
He's a good one. But he only leads to heartache and disappointment.

One year Red special? I'd let another team worry about him. He's never played a full season, and it's hard to picture him doing so.

They're saying Sheldon Richardson is gonna command $16MM.

That leaves him out as any sort of possibility.

I do not know why we would spend free agent dollars on a midget when we already have two still on their rookie contracts.

I would rather get a banger type guy, if we went FA route and didn't keep Lynch.

This team needs three yards and a cloud of dust type guy. Get me a RB I can give the ball fifty times a game if I need to. Lynch was on a pitch count all year which is fine if you have another guy that can take the rest of his carries. I say no more Lynch. Get me a workhorse back that is big and produced consistently in college.

What about Trent Murphy? Might be a solid get, maybe not the homerun guy we would want but seems like a solid player.

Wouldn't he still be on his rookie contract? Are the Redskins letting him walk? Can we trust a ginger?

I'm not expecting a major impact player on defense from FA, most of them will be retained by their teams. But we may be able to land a few solid vets that can impact games. It seems like those guys went away when Jack came onboard. Obviously a few guys retired but, I wonder if his preference was younger guys believing he can "coach them up".

I see quite a few "older guys" that I think could have a positive impact on our team and may be affordable. I'll name just a few.

Connor Barwin DE
Tom Johnson DT
Navarro Bowman LB ( keep him)
Paul Posluszny LB
Rey Maualuga LB (knows system)
Patrick Robinson CB

All guys that I think can add to the team and may not be overly priced.

As much as guys have been a lot more willing to come here in fA the last few years, I would think it’s even more attractive now. Carb by/Smith/Nelson are all probably gone based on performance or possible locker room problems. That frees up enough $ to get a guy or two who may slip by some teams in FA. I’d steal Fuller away from the Bears if he wasn’t re signed. Bowman would be re signed by the end of the week if it were up to me.

Lynch is done. Get a real RB FFS.

Dion Lewis is a FA. I could see Gannon wanting his as our new Garner.
I was looking at the FA rb list as well and Dion Lewis popped out to me also as a guy that I could see Gruden wanting for his O. Duel threat guy but really excels at catching the ball. Gruden is going to want to pound the rock, but also going to want a combo guy also. Definitely could see an interest in Lewis. And Chucky likes guys with some experience also.

Yeah definitely. He will have the midgets already in the roster more involved in the pass game too though. Every time I’ve seen either one run an angle route it’s worked, damn near. This is too good of a draft at RB to not take one high though. Maybe not Rd 1, but RD 2 wouldn’t surprise me.
