Who should the raiders look to draft at QB?

Who should we get? (Explain how we get in comments if it needs trading up)

I’d hate to miss out on a Tyree Wilson or Leatherwood or Arnette in 2025 because of that steep asking price.
Duplicating that should not be the goal then, no? Lol

Wonder if Wash is open to trading Daniels and, if so, for how much? That’s a trade that does not have to wait for draft day. Obviously, if Peters is open to trading the pick, it must be for a lot, as neither us nor Minn has pulled the trigger yet.

BTW, if the disagreement between AP and Telescope is about Penix or Nix, not sure how you resolve that. Somebody gets on a table and pounds?

I'd hate to still be drafting Wilson, Leatherwood, or Arnette because it wouldn't matter if Mahomes was the QB in that case.

That said, if Washington is open to trading #2 for what amounts to the going price, someone get them on the phone now.

But Internet noise is generally code for bullshit anyway.

Cant wait for the post about how we didn’t trade up when the there was no one willing to trade up with

Cant wait for the in depth breakdown on why Terrion Arnold was the perfect fit for us at 13.
He’s a CB… I’d rather go with Mitchell who has traits of an elite CB at least if we must pick a CB. Personally I’d prefer a DJ Turner type guy later on. Or that big kid from Oregon even later.

I personally think OT is the right pick at 13 or in a trade down even if that guy is JPJ to fill out RG spot for a year or two in a trade down. I also believe the two QB’s Nix and Penix will be available in the 2nd round and don’t think there is much risk associated with holding out if we want to potentially move to the top of the 2nd to get the one we want.

If for whatever reason we went CB in the 1st. I want someone that I think can hang with speedy WR’s. I think I’d rather see a Latu at DE than a CB

Telesco reluctant to move up

This Doesn’t surprise me

Tony Pauline of SportsKeeda reported this recently:

“There’s also been talk about the Las Vegas Raiders wanting to move up for a quarterback. The latest completely from Raiders’ draft meetings is that head coach Antonio Pierce wants to trade up for a signal caller, yet general manager Tom Telesco is leaning heavily toward sticking with second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell and free-agent signing Gardner Minshew.”

The fact that neither the Raiders nor the Vikings have made a deal with Wash for the #2 pick, means it has not been offered or the offer was not the “going price.”

I do agree with that. If we went defense at 13 I'd rather go with a guy like Turner/Latu/Murphy over Arnold/Mitchell. They don't hit need positions as well but I have them ranked higher. I'll keep saying it, I'd rather stay away from an early round CB and pick up a veteran as a band aid for the year.

If the disagreement is not about Daniels, then I’m saying this is purposeful mixed messaging. Keep other teams guessing. If it’s about Daniels, it’s about price.

On the merits, there is a school of thought that you don’t take 1st round “risks,” beyond what is inherent in drafting any prospect. You adhere to medical grades, character grades, and baseline height-weight-speed traits. After such filters, you rank by film, position value and need.

I wonder if QB needed teams are leaning on team doctors to clear Penix for selection in the 1st. Got to believe a team is going to take that risk.

Per Hondo (grain of salt), those are “bad” drafting teams, who repeatedly pick in the T10. “Good” drafting teams stay disciplined, hit their cues, and bank 70+ percent of their 1st round picks. He seems to think Telescope is one of those conservative GMs.
