Season 4 Prime Video GIF by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

The worst one of the entire series. It does have some sentimental value for me though. My grandfather took me to see the originals when I was a kid so I took him to this one right before he passed away. At least he didn’t live to see the Rian Johnson calamity.

I went with my girl at the time. We both hated the movie, but she thought Jar Jar was the best part. Talk about a red flag I shouldn't have ignored.

Heh. I took my kids to the next one and almost got into a fight. The youngest was wiggling around and hitting the back of the chair of the guy in front of her and he turned around and yelled at her. I would have been cool about it if he’d said something to me but she was like 5 or so. Not on my watch champ.

some fucking people...

Not sure if I mentioned this already.

I went into a corner store not long ago and had an old school Star Wars shirt on. Guy looks at me and says “oh you like A New Hope”? I looked at him like he was nuts. I had to think about it for a second as to what the kid was saying. Once I realized what he was saying I said “It’s just Star Wars, get it right” and walked away.

Im watching ANH right now. I really hate that Tarkin dies. I fucking love that character.

The Tarkin book isn't anything groundbreaking, but it gets into he and Vader's relationship a little more and how he suspects Vader is Anakin and also how Palpatine nurtured competition between the two. Leads up to the start of the Death Star construction iirc.

Oh, c'mon, put that shit behind a spoiler tag!

Not really, don't pay much attention to Star Wars, but if I did, and I didn't know Tarkin died, I'd be really upset right now.

I appreciate the canon and everything, but I think that I appreciate how Peter Cushing simply owns the character. I have so much joy when he’s on the screen. That’s why I suspend belief during his scenes in Rogue One. I was just so happy to see his return that I was willing to overlook that it was probably super unethical.

Yeah more than anything I think it just adds to the dynamic between him and Vader in ANH. The bickering is funny to me. Like the odd couple Star Wars version. I might be misremembering but I like at some point I read that Tarkin was originally supposed to be the more prominent villain.

I think that was the case when Lucas originally wrote the flick. Vader was simply supposed to be the lackey until it became a cultural phenomenon and he became the fleshed out character.

It wasn't originally conceived to have a sequel but Lucas was basically winging it from the beginning. Vader wasn't originally intended to be Luke's father, or even a central figure at all, it just kinda grew from there. Messy as it was/is, gotta give the man his props for his imagination. He went from the two being love interests to secret twins who's father happens to be the random enforcer turned all time villain.

Remember when Lucas knew how to read the room? I remember. Pepperidge Farm remembers.

That’s funny. Someone at work just made me a “me” Sith funko pop figure. Basically just tweaked the Baylan Scoll one a little but it’s pretty good lol.
