What cheap shot?
Critiquing valid opposition to protesting at work or on stage by throwing into people’s faces bigoted cops killing minorities in custody. I get it at a visceral level. And although I oppose and still oppose Kaep, sure wish his message was heard.

I went to college to be a cop. I discovered that the professors (who were cops) and the students were morally deficient. I therefore changes my major to an area where I could be benefit rather than a cancer to society. I don't regret it for a second. And for my attitude increasing crime, I don't see it. I am not a criminal and don't need the police.

I too started my collegiate career as a major in Criminal Justice. I wanted to be a cop or an FBI agent. After two semesters...and meeting with a good number of people in law enforcement...I chose a different path. I realized that many were so jaded they no longer saw people as human beings. I was also a long-haired punk who drove a '68 Mustang and was hassled and pulled over far too frequently to be classified as anything other than being profiled. I had a negative view of 'cops' for many many years.

Fast forward to 2006 when I met the woman who would become my wife (we just celebrated our 13th anniversary on the 26th!). She spent 5 years with Sac PD and then another 15 with the DEA. Through her I met a LOT of amazing men and women in law enforcement. I learned that there are more good cops (far more) than bad cops. I also learned that a bad cop is 100 times more memorable than a good cop. Most of these men and women want to make a difference...and also want to go home at the end of the day to their friends and families.

Most cops I know (i.e. 'the good ones') support the use of body cams, strict psych profiles and more training. They are tired of assholes like this guy ruining the public perception of law enforcement.

Well said.

The asshole quotient is a thing. Bigotry obviously is a thing. And it’s hurting the job. It’s hurting the country. Hopefully we can right this ship. It’s just become a huge political thing from which it might be real hard to turn.

I don't share your views...that doesn't make mine a 'cheap shot'. I firmly supported Kaep's protest and I also firmly support those that have a platform that can reach millions to use it. You and I don't have that kind of reach.

Cops (some) treating black people unfairly is sure part of all this. But it is far from all of it. What percentage of minorities are in prison compared to the rest of society. How many black guys with minor offenses in for long stretches while wholesale theft by CEOs go with a slap on the wrist. I lived in Nashville years ago. Public schools were terrible. People with money put their kids in private schools. Schools got desegregated by giving poor white trash shit resources too, not by lifting all boats. Gerrymandered districts ensure there was fuck all could be done about it at the voting booth. Subtle keywords coming out that all this shit is just AOK.

People aren't ripping the country apart now because one group of psycho cops killed some guy. That is the flashpoint. People are acting out because they have been fucked over all their lives, their parents were fucked over all their lives, and their grandparents before them.

How about decent health care for big city minorities, what is the plan for that one? Oh, and by the way, about double the percentage of minorities dying than whites in the current covid, and so on and so forth.

How is Koby’s reach any less on Twitter or in interviews? Where do you draw the line? It’s okay to kneel, wear a t-shirt in warmups, stop the show for a political message? We are both drawing lines. Mine just coincides with his job.

It’s always sucked being poor. It will always suck. The path to not being poor is not rocket science. Immigrants have always done it and still do it today.

Being unfairly treated for reasons one was born into must totally suck. But the answer is not more government. That will never solve it. The answer lies in the constitution and bible, not bigger government and more politics.

I think you are missing the point that the inequality gap is widening more and more. government has to do something because rampant capitalism isn’t working for most people. I don’t think more taxes is good either, it just goes to the corrupt. That is why I am for mandatory profit sharing. I have never even heard a politician propose such a thing but that is what needs to happen.

I love you man!

"The answer lies in the constitution and bible" --- what a joke. Unless you mean old testament bible.

Rampant capitalism is the failure of government. The solution is not more government. For example, if we enforced antitrust laws and removed restraints on competition, we would have more (not less) economic freedom. We would have more opportunity (not less). We would have more (not less) wealth and less (not more) need for social programs and safety nets.

Employee non-competition agreements are a great example of how government fucks Americans in favor of corporations. California passed a law in 1897 declaring contracts in restraint of trade illegal. That law has contributed more to this State’s economic success and wealth than any government program. Employee mobility results in higher wages, more innovation and greater wealth for the entire state.

Big government is a big con. It will result in more people being poor (not less).

As you know, I’m for a higher minimum wage when jobs are scarce and the economy is strong, as it was before COVID-19. Passing laws to make the economy more effective for more people is different from the big government being advocated by politicians trying to hoard power and wealth.

For example, the higher education system has been run by fuckheads for years. And the costs have skyrocketed. They have ripped off Americans with fat, bloated bureaucracies.

Politicians’ solutions? No, it’s not competition for scare dollars. It was making dollars more abundant for colleges to rip us off more. Now what is the solution? Not to scale back but for government to pay for overpriced colleges. What a fucking joke.

I go to church every Sunday with my kids. It’s done more to raise great kids than my stupid ass. Ignorance and arrogance leads people to ignore the answers in those documents.

I understand about Carr now.

Wow. Amazing. You went with that BS card too. What an asshole thing to say. You bitch about cops profiling. Now you profile me. Fuck you. Is that clear enough?

Apparently you are one of those ignorant and arrogant people. Do you label others to feel smart? Well, guess what? I’ve been reading your rants for months. You could use a little church and schooling in the law.
