Derek Carr’s thoughts on if the #Raiders were going to take a QB:

"When I watched the draft there was like -47% chance they were going to draft somebody (QB) in my mind. Hopefully those guys didn’t have their hopes up. But it wasn’t going to happen.”

Michael Gehlken @GehlkenNFL

Derek Carr said he received assurances from Raiders brass about his status as franchise QB before draft. Believed there was a “negative 47% chance” team would take one. “I’m not going anywhere. This is my team, and it will be for the next however long I want to play.”

^- Dude needs to zip it. He's acting like he just had the greatest year ever. Shut your mouth and show it on field.

#Raiders Jon Gruden, on Brown missing the first day of voluntary OTAs: “Hopefully we’ll see him here in the next couple of days. He’s been working extremely hard, learning our offense....but in the meantime, we have plenty of balls to throw and plenty of receivers to throw to.

^- Brown is stud WR. No issues with him missing OTAs, but no question the guy is a prick prima dona WR.

LT Kolton Miller: "I know I have a job to do and I know last year wasn't good enough. There were a lot of problems with that. I'm expected to be better and I will be better."

Kolton Miller “happy to be staying at left tackle.” Expects better results now that he is healthier, stronger. He is at 328 after being 310 at last year’s Combine. #Raiders

^- No shit. You were a train wreck. Good thing he bulked up.

Doug Martin said he’s “ready to mentor and to push” Josh Jacobs

^- Really don't want DM getting any real snaps. He was ok last year but the fumbles were an issue.

Brandon Parker has bulked up considerably. Working as swing tackle, and Gruden says he’ll be given opportunities to get on the field. “He may play left guard. Who knows?”

^ He was a swing tackle last year. He swung the door wide open to the QB. Until further notice, an overdrafted reach. Best case scenario: he's an average backup.

Gruden says he would like to see Arden Key “at 260 one day.” Said he’s working at it. Listed at 238.
Both Guenther and Gruden handling second-year DE with kid gloves after saying this past offseason was important for Key to get bigger, stronger.

^ Something seems off with Key. The one thing they told him is to bulk up, but that doesn't seem to have happened.

Was wondering where the OTA thread was.

I like Miller. Seems like he’s a pro. Need him to play better tho, at least he’s aware. If he stays healthy he might turn in a solid year.

Gruden on TE Darren Waller: “From the time he walked in here last year, he has been one of most impressive players on team. One of best-kept secrets in the league.”

^- the Gruden kiss of death. Waller will get traded for a 7th round pick which will be used on a punter who will get cut in training camp.

Good lord. Get these two on a stair-master. Now.

Key has a funky build. Might be hard for him to put on good weight. He could get a lot stronger and not gain a whole lot of weight tho.

Sweat was about to be a Raider in the 1st, and they played the board well and took Crosby in the 4th and have been pumping him up as an eventual starter.

Do they like Key? Maybe not. As you said, something could be off. Too early to tell.

Welcome to the world of diva WRs

Gruden didn’t offer a reason why Antonio Brown not here. “Hopefully he will be here soon. He has been working extremely hard.” #Raiders

Arden Key actually has a bigger frame than Josh Allen who supposedly added 25lbs in one offseason.

There is absolutely zero reason for him weighing less than 240lbs.

Look at his body definition. It’s just, funky. And he has really narrow shoulders.

Allen was skinnier, but cut. Wider shoulders.

Key has that Kevin Durant body.

He could have lowered his BF% and stayed at around the same weight? Have to see some footage.

I’d rather he was still at 240 but functionally stronger than getting up to 260 and being slow/sloppy like he was at LSU.

Key's shoulders are wider than Allen. Same exact arm length but Key's total wingspan is two inches longer so wider in the upper body. Same exact height too. Bigger hands for what it's worth. He has slightly more mass to work with so there's really no excuse IMO. Regarding KD, he's stated many times that he does almost zero strength training. It's all skill work with him.

Depends on how he tests on his lifts. And we will see if he can hold up during season vs run. He starts getting washed out vs run then we’ll know

He can put on weight. Players do it all the time (see Brian Burns at Combine)

He was getting washed out by Kansas City’s backup TE in the second game so...he has some improving to do.

Maybe he has low T? Lol. Idk man. I guess I’m just glad he looks fit.

They did say they wanted to use him how they intended to last year?

If he gets sacks idgaf I guess lol.

Vegas point spreads as of now through week 16 puts us squarely in the Tua sweepstakes. Damn. Lol.
