As a fan, the problem is not the laudable goal of player safety or trying to teach and support playing the game like they did when players did not have face masks or helmets, but leather covers. But trying to police it with biased refs. It will be worse than holding calls, which happen on every play. Refs can throw a flag on every running play on O, especially non-zone plays, and a flag against the D on every play. That’s gonna suck.

Yeah, if they call this by the book it's going to ruin the game. What a horrible rule.

I really don't think it's going to be as big a deal as some think. Where I think it will change how things are done on both sides of the ball will be short yardage situations. Other than that situation I'm not sure it's a huge deal.

This has always been my point.If it happens on EVERY play then why do they always seem to call it on us when we convert a key 3rd down?

I think your point is it's just more opportunity to subjectively make calls based on a(nother) pretty Shitty rule.
 
Felony charges dropped or reduced against Foster, who is now facing just two misdemeanors for guns and weed. Dodged a bullet with help from a good lawyer. Now confused why assault charges against the woman who beat Foster’s X up have not been brought. Seems to me the DA should have prosecuted both at the same time. Now she could deny charges and blame it on Foster.

NFL fucked up the day they said players had the First Amendment right to protest at work. A little late to put that horse back in the barn, especially when the horse is black and has a microphone.

Because they had a rule on the books, and, at least the NBA commissioner I recall came out early and said, “not on my watch.”

I can't wait to hear incessant chatter next season about the kneeling rule. Then watch players get flagged inconsistently for lowering head and using helmet.
