its actually not very scary at all. no "must resign" contracts. We're fairly cap friendly outside of that so a tag on bush wouldn't be the worst thing. I think Reece resigns easily.

Targets -

DB, LB, DL Depth, RT, OL Depth, depth RB, QB depth.

I like our team from a talent perspective. Our biggest need is DC

Werent our safeties atrocious enough? Are we going to trot out Giordano or Mitchell or Boyd as starters? Yikes.

too bad we didn't land Dashon Goldson last off season...

FAs
QB - Campbell, Boller
RB - Bush, Cartwright, Reece
WR - Houshmanzadeh, Schilens
OT - Barnes, Heyer
DE - Moss, Scott
LB - Blackstock, Groves
S - Branch

If I had to rank these guys in order of importance I (JMHO) would rank as follows:

Branch
Reece
Bush (but ONLY if the price is right...no way we should pay him any more than another team would) The guy is a great compliment back but I don't see him as being explosive enough or tough to be the main guy.
Scott (I would like to be able to bring him back to camp and see if he can regain his old explosiveness. He should cost much to resign for a year)
Schilens (I would like to bring him back into camp to earn a roster spot. If he doesn't then release him. It's not like he's going to be an expensive signing)
Heyer (as another guy to try to earn a backup spot. He's not a stud but he's a capable and versitle backup)
Everybody else - I never want to see you in a Raider uniform again.

Boller, Blackstock, and Groves are the 3 that I would expect we let walk with no offer.

The rest could be brought back in some capacity. Branch and Reece the highest priorities.

let most of those FA walk, gotta re sign branch period. would love to have campbell back as backup but no one sees that happening. reece, if he really is a free agent, obviously becomes a priotiry as well. Bush does seem to like playing for raiders, so gotta wonder if he re signs here, sharing backfield w most electric RB in NFL could prolong his career even longer not being a every down back. I totally expect our defense to be overhauled. shaugnessy is a great player, but a change to 3-4 could make him a trade candidate with this team in need of picks.

this team will be very active in free agency come march, if a switch to 3-4 happens, we could see 3-5 new starters on D added, with a NT needed as well as OLB, CB w huff there now and someone to take huffs FS spot. veteran 3-4 guys would help

Time to do some cullin'.

I see Eugene is on that list. Wat? :shakehead:

Did we just cut him outright or was he a PS pick up? The guy was one of our best db's in pre-season.
