Official 2013 Draft Thread - Day 1

ESPN Insider Scouts Inc. 2nd round mock:

10 (42). Oakland Raiders (from Miami)
Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford

Anybody think we trade down in the second round for more picks?

Prisco gave us a B+ and Rang gave us a B-. I put us in that range too.

Also, Geno is not showing up on Friday. What a fucking bitch.

12 A- Raiders select: D.J. Hayden, CB, Houston

They trade back and land a premier cover corner. I love this move. They add picks and add a top corner. Nice job, Oakland.

What Prisco says about Miami...

3 C Dolphins select: Dion Jordan, OLB, Oregon

I don't like the move up to get Jordan. He is a solid player, not a great player. That would concern me. This is a panic move.

» CB D.J. Hayden to the Raiders at No. 12: Speaking of the Raiders, somebody in Oakland has been listening to Greg Cosell's podcasts. The NFL Films senior producer was an early voice from the wilderness in hailing the Houston prospect as the draft's top corner. NFL Network's Mike Mayock ultimately ranked him No. 1, too, but Hayden wasn't even on the grid at the outset of the pre-draft season. On the heels of a savvy trade with the Dolphins (in its own right, a stunning move by Miami), it's a comfort to see Oakland still thinking differently. They're a weird bunch come draft day, and we like it that way.

Hey Byron, unsuccessful suicide attempt last night?

Everything alright?

I had ertz in my little al in second round but I fucking changed it for some reason.

Ertz would be a GREAT pick at 42

Ertz going to the 9ers (Harbaugh former coach), Iggles, or Jets.

Settle down you dopes.

Having the Dolphins openly saying they were surprised they didn't have to give up more makes Reggie sound like an amateur, but oh well. They traded up for a bust so I think the joke will be on them.

I like the Hayden pick, but anyone saying they're not concerned about the injury and that he wouldn't have been there later is crazy. I don't think any other team would have touched him possibly before the mid 2nd or 3rd round because the injury is so unique.

Alonzo Highsmith from GB's scouting staff literally said doctors have never seen this injury before...only other people with it are dead. So we really don't know what we have here as far as him going live with contact, keeping fingers crossed though that this isn't Leon Bender or something there abouts where he never plays all over again. Being cleared with an unprecedented injury by 32 doctors who routinely let players go back into games with concussions and miss heart ailments on players who later die isn't the comfort I'm looking for either.

Definitely high stakes poker Reggie's playing.

Margus Hunt

"Impact players only"

We need help on DL bad.

6-8" 82" wingspan 4.6 forty 38 reps...

2012: 13 Games Played, 31 Tackles, 11.5 Tackles for Loss, 8.0 Sacks, 11 QB Hurries, 1 Interception, 2 Fumbles Forced, 2 Pass Deflections, 3 Blocked Kicks

gimme some of that

This plus the fact that everyone knew Red was desperate to trade down, not having a 2nd or 5th round pick and his guy been off the radar.

Celt's right, Reggie got bent over. Dolphins have 2 picks in every round, you work that because they were just as desperate to move up to get in front of Philly who was speculated to like Jordan as much as they did.

That being said, it's over with now. We got something, so just hope he can hit on the 2nd rounder, but this crock of shit that he did best he could is just that.

@Gil_Brandt: I'm hearing @Jaguars leaning toward taking Johnthan Banks w/ 1st pick in 2nd round, not a QB. #NFLDraft

We sorely need a guard- Warford would be absolutely perfect for this offense- solid mauling power guard-

This....I don't want any of these QBs unless you get a 6th round guy for future depth. We'll be at the top of next year's draft too where the QB prospects will be much better.
