John David Booty was released from the Minnesota Vikings' Practice Squad this week. I thought that was an interesting move that hasn't garnered much attention around the league.

Let me preface this by saying we have enough "JaMarcus Sucks... is fat... is stupid" threads out there and I don't think the presence of Booty would in any way threaten him.

But would Booty be worth a look on the Practice Squad? I have a hard time seeing this as a negative as it would give him 9 months on the team before training camp in '10. His arm is probably on par with Gradkowski's and he has the USC pedigree Al loves. I dunno, I think I'd replace one of the many ill-fated projects we currently have on the PS to make room for the guy.

What would it hurt?
 
The bigger question Natty is "would it help"? Nah.
 
Be interesting to hear what he did in Minnesota to get the boot like that considering he was in a pretty good position to learn under a guy like Favre for a season or 2.... and it's not like Minnesota really has an heir apparent for Favre.

How many Cowboy fans thought signing the undrafted Tony Romo would help when the Boys were waiting for the light to come on for Quincy Carter?... Exactly...


I don't think he'll ever be more than a 2, but he has a great attitude... He and Leinert will work very well together for us next year ;)

FTR I'd be on the Leinart bandwagon. Would I get comp points in next year's Lil Al if that happened?
 
Would he represent an upgrade over the backups we currently have? That would be the only reason to bring him in, because you know he's not gonna get a chance to start.

I love when people try and compare guys like Brady and Romo to some fucking guy who can't even make the practice squad.

Yeah, lets sign him so he can be our next Plunkett right? Talk about fucking delusional.

I swear there are some stupid motherfuckers that read and frequent this place... Natty suggests signing him to the PRACTICE SQUAD so that maybe he could work his way after 9 months to maybe replace Gradkowski or Frye NEXT YEAR since they are both on one year deals, you know be fuggin PROACTIVE for a change?...

And the result of this is the same STUPID humps get their labia lips all flapping about how we think he's the next Plunkett or Brady or some stupid shit like that... Fucking dumbasses...
