I don’t think $40, but probably close to it. He’ll probably get in the $30-35 million range

Baker seems like he was born to be a Raider. I'd take a chance on him and draft Rattler later in the draft.

Those two personalities combined should be great for the lockerroom. :pound:

Sam Bradford did a great job at obtaining money.

It pays to be a QB.

I like Baker but I'd rather sign Russ at a vet minimum deal and use that extra scratch to keep the defensive band together by resigning Koonce, Moehrig, Jones, Diablo etc.

I’d rather sign neither and draft a QB. And if the rookie needs to be on the bench for a year, roll with and take our lumps with AO’C under center because you’re fooling yourself if you think Baker or the Fat Midget are going to do much better.

You can't be serious...
Adams approves this post.

The plan should not be to start O’Connell, no differently than WA and Indi’s plans should not have been to start Howell or Minshew. But I’m not for $40+ million for Cousins, $30+ millions for Baker or $8+ million for Minshew even if he did not earn starter money ($20+ million) last year. Jimmy’s still on the books when we cut him if he does not take a paycut.

Go all in on a 1st round QB. Start him ASAP. Trade Adams in October if he’s unhappy/won’t restructure for us.

If you’re going to try to make the playoffs, lose and keep spinning our wheels, then Cousins is the only or best option. Just not into investing more retail FA vet coin into the QB room.

Both guys are massive upgrades to AO’C lol

Even if neither played well, they'd still be upgrades. The only question is whether they're potentially good enough to justify paying them market value. Would either be a significant enough upgrade to elevate the team to playoff contender?

Here's hoping we take a QB in Rd1 and have him to focus the conversation around.

Okay, so this is the problem with APY.

QB A and B both get 4/160 year deals.

A's structure is 25/45/45/45 with only the 1st year guaranteed
B's structure is 40/40/40/40 with 3 years guaranteed

They're not the same.

How are most 40/yr contracts structured?
