Eff that. Best part about this team is the depth. Not sacrificing that for KD. I doubt he’s interested anyway. He’d get destroyed in the media for crawling back and you know how sensitive he is about that.

I believe Marcus Spears said Dubs have some interest in bringing him back but unlikely it will happen. It will take a slew of players including Wiggins, Kuminga, Moody, and probably Wiseman to make it happen. Why mortgage the future when we have already proven that we can win without him? Appears that Phoenix is his desired destination.

Apparently a worrisome point of consideration for a potential KD trade is that it would end up saving hundreds of millions in lux tax over the next few years vs. resigning Wiggins and Poole plus whatever other prospects we send out. Lacob is a KD fan too. He mentioned wanting to retire his number one day and there is that big ass mural of Steph, Klay, Dray (?), and KD at the Chase center. Currently Durant is a hard sell as a legacy Warrior but bringing him back around might tip the scales there. Still a long shot but I don't think it's dead in the water.

Wiggins would have to go. That would suck bc he was the 2nd best player for us after Curry. Peaked during that chip run.

For KD I wouldn't give up more than two more players. You could have Wiseman or Moody. And you could take on of Kuminga or Poole most likely. And then balance it with draft picks and minor pieces.

Warriors get: KD

Nets get: Wiggins, Moody, Kuminga, 1st round picks etc

Curry, Poole, Rollins
Klay, Big Ragu, Weatherspoon
KD, Santos
Draymond, PBJ
Looney, Wiseman

2way: Quinones, Jessup

You would have some money left to add 3 veterans to round out the roster. (SF, PF, C) The bench would be very weak without some old heads to lead the second unit.

Im not saying Id do this trade. But this is what I think it would look like. And that roster would be better next year but not in the future. Id just keep the team as is personally. But KD is a mega star and shouldn't be slept on either. He could win 2-3 more chips here easy.

I wasn't aware of luxury tax implications. That definitely puts a different spin on this. I still don't want to mortgage the future to bring him back.

I would hate to trade Kuminga away. He has flashed and shown a very high ceiling. I don't think management wants to trade Poole either. Maybe a package of Wiseman, Wiggins, Moody and some picks gets it done.

I'm not advocating for it either. Although it's a pretty gangster move to keep him away from Phoenix.

No way it gets done without one of Kuminga and Poole, if not both. I might be inclined to offer Poole since he's closer to an extension and more redundant with KD back in the house. I'm still not sold on Kuminga either though. He's got a long way to go in terms of developing a consistent jump shot or just bbiq in general.

Poole makes sense because he's due a big pay day but he's also only 22. I wouldn't hate the trade but honestly would just rather roll with what we have now.

These blockbuster mega deals have a lot of moving pieces and rarely pan out anyway, although seems more prevalent in the NBA than any other sport.

Our Summer League team blows. Getting blown out in every game. I realize we are missing Kuminga and Wiseman but shouldn’t be losing every game by 20+

Gave Lester Quiñones one of our 2 way slots. Haven’t watched a second of the last two games so I have no idea if he’s any good.

24 minutes yesterday and 3 points. These guys like Moody and and Jessup should be dropping 20+ in these games. Santos looks like someone we might be able to develop. Moody seems a bit redundant with the kid we drafted.

6'5 big wingspan combo guard. Can rebound decently. Isn't a liability on defense and can shoot threes. He averaged like 39% on tons of shots his last couple seasons for Memphis. 2-way contract bench shooter who can handle the ball some w ok size. Pretty solid type of two way gamble. The Warriors worked him out twice before the draft and then signed him to a two way after. They like him I think.

Rollins is more of a mid range shooter w better handles and less size. Both have huge wingspans and give good effort w a solid feel for the game. I thought both moves made sense. They also fit ok w Weatherspoon bc he wants to attack the basket and get FT's etc. So each one scores best on a different level. I think this will be our PG/SG depth behind Steph & Poole.

Warriors still need another veteran PF, Wing and 3rd C. The GL center looked pretty bad in California league. Was hoping he could step into a 2way but I doubt it.

Id take Hernangomez as a vet min C. Andre Igoudala/Edwards/Hood at SF. Id sign Austin Rivers or Pat Bev for combo guard depth for the playoffs. I think a few old vets would help the youngsters on the bench. Harrell, Griffin or Paschall as a bench PF etc.

The Warriors are an injury prone team.

Also we saw Chiozza get minutes last year. These young combo guards Rollins, Quinones & Weatherspoon are all better options. Hopefully one of them develops into a rotation player down the road. Weatherspoon is 25 and been working much like GP2 did. He gets to the rim and scores which is a something the Warriors could use. Only 6'3 and not a good 3point shooter tho. Decent passer, I think he may get added to the roster or the other two way.

Santos is interesting but pretty green too. Cant envision him getting real minutes so he might as well stay in Brazil until next season. Jessup hasn't seized a spot either. He is a Joe Harris type shooter or Bertans etc. If the shot isn't falling he is worthless. Gotta dial in his shot and he may end up making a roster one day bc he is big.

I wonder if we have any interest in bringing Boogie back. He had that monster playoff game against us this past season and still has some game. Just cant trust Wiseman and can't count on Looney to play the iron man minutes he did this past year.

I would. He can still score and rebound. He stinks outside the paint on defense but so do most centers. Anyone who is over 6'10 and 250 would work. We need some #Beef in the paint. So sick of only have smallball options. Not a very dynamic approach huh

I could use another player who pressures the dribbler too (hence the Pat Bev shout out, anyone like him would work) vet minimum Wing needed also for defense. Id take Cousins, Iggy and Bev on the washed up low minute mentor squad. They all have nasty attitudes that match our choir boy types haha

Cousins brings too much baggage plus doesn’t really fit offensively even if we’re excusing his defense. I’m not too worried about center. We can bring back Bjelica if absolutely necessary but Wiseman needs to give us minutes there. Plus Kuminga as a small ball center might be his best role for now. I think we found our groove with the rebounding and we can still run the opposing center right off the floor when it counts. Don’t be fooled by us letting Jocic get his in the playoffs. That was strategic.

We need to adequately replace at least one of OPJ or GPII defensively. Moody is more of a backup to Wiggins in that regard. Beverly’s defense is overrated but still good enough if the price is right. I’m just waiting to see what magic Bob pulls from the scrap heap this year.

Have to figure there's more than one guy out there who would come to GS to chase a ring.

You won the title.

Now you are upset about the Summer League.

Relax. :D
