Official 2013 Draft Thread - Day 1

He needs to work on his tackling a bit. But everything else looks good on "tape" aka the digitally captured game recordings on youtube. (Btw some of us used to actually play football and watch VHS tapes, hence the usage of that word)

I know this has been posted. But this is one of the games to watch if you wanna see Hayden playing well. Not sure how solid UCLA's passing game was. Hayden is player #2

(OT) UCLA's RB Franklin may be around for our third with Lacey and Ball still on the board. Altho Red may draft Lacy at 42

I'm appealing you your intellect now... does this guy look undersized to you?

It's C-USA.

His size looks pretty good in that clip.

You are such an ass, reaching for the slightest crumb you can latch onto to spread your negative vibe far and wide.

Yeah, all that negativity -- like where I said his speed and playmaking ability figures to be an asset to us.

I'm not sure you're making much sense, Byron.

Maybe slam your spoon down on the table a little harder?

Revis is basically the same size as Hayden fyi?

I think Revis might have 5 pounds on him. Is he too small to cover #1's?

He's obviously not too small.
He does a helluva job.

It depends on the player and what he can do with the God-given physical tools he has.
Hayden has what he has - average height and a slim build.

He doesn't have the size of say, C. Bailey, or Nnamdi, or even Deion Sanders, for that matter - who was 2 inches taller.
Mike Haynes was 2 inches taller.

Look down the list of corners who are in the Hall of Fame.
Go to the HoF site and look at it yourself.
Almost every single one of them is bigger than Hayden - and most of them by a couple of inches or more.

If you've got the size, it's an advantage going up against the bigger NFL receivers.

I don't know why that has to irritate some of you - but whatever.

so now he's a bust because he doesn't stack up to HOF'ers?

You are an idiot

Oh, the qualifier.

Welcome back...

Don't change the subject.

You've been banging this absurd undersized BS through the thread... that and how delighted you'd be if Al would have made this pick so you could witness everyone else slip into misery right along with you.

Awesome!

What?

Now he doesn't live up to the Hall of Fame?

WTF is wrong with you? :pound:

Personally I'd be happy if he plays down to the Terry McDaniel/Lester Hayes standard... shorty's more in his shrimpy, size class.

nice find on the UCLA game. Kids a stud.

He does look good doesn't he?

I'm starting to get pretty excited about this pick. I think if all these guys in our secondary can work out reasonably well, and we can add a pass rusher that delivers, we should have a pretty effective defense.

Honesty, when I started watching film my first impression was, "that's a pretty big corner who moves real well through the secondary"... which is probably why Tart's nonsense caught my eye and chapped my ass a bit.

Taking a day off from work and having to do laundry really fuckin sucks ass

LOL.

How much you charge per pound?... thinking of sending a basket or two down your way.

Are people really saying corner isn't a need? I wouldn't be upset if we went out and got another. Don't have one proven player on the roster, in my opinion.

Too many other holes to go after a second corner. Gotta give Jenkins a shot before using another premium pick for a cb.

Corner is a need but there is a need elsewhere that is as pressing if not more pressing than to go after a 2nd corner this draft. we are lacking a MLB as i can see it, some good DTs, oline depth and future, and TE. As i said in another thread i was not excited at first with Hayden but after putting more thought into i think it was a good pick. I would even go as far as to say a safe pick. Had it not been for his injury i think he would have been the best corner of this class and a sure fire top 10 if not top 5. Maybe that is my wishful thinking but still we got better value for the pick than if we would have stayed at the 3 spot.
