*** Official not too soon 2024 draft thread***

Some fearless predictions (and I am usually dead ass wrong):

QBs: McCarthy will bust. Rattler will have a better career than two of the QBs taken before him. NE will take Maye and he will suck.
WRs: Nabers will be a superstar.
O-linemen- the OR and WA o-linemen will be real good. Latham and Mims will be average at best. Raiders will take two o-linemen. Assume one will be Fuaga, or Fautanu.
Best defensive player from this draft in two years: Murphy.
Best DE from this draft: Latu
Busts: Worthy, Coleman, Lassiter- Small, slow, and real slow.
Telesco will draft either Edgerin Cooper, Peyton WIlson, or Junior Colson

Easiest prediction: we will fuck this up. Badly.

When Reggie was hired, we said all he has to do is better than Al, than Gruyock just had to do a bit better than Reggie; then Ziegler had to do just a bit better than Mayock. This franchise makes people dumb. I'd say it's damn near impossible to do worse than Gruyock because those guys were once in a generation morons. But nothing surprises me anymore, which is why I expect T'Vondre Sweat to be the pick at 13.

We could have done a better job collectively on this site picking players than past regimes. I don’t get how personnel depts with millions to spend and an army of people could select Ferrell, Conley, Arnette, etc.

No one here would have taken Ferrell or Arnette or Leatherwood where they were taken. No one. Still incredible that people who get paid did that.

Conley dropped further than he was projected.

Reggie gambled right in that his legal situation turned into a non-issue, he just missed that Conley would suck.

If I had to guess we probably didn't even scout him much thinking he would be gone by our pick and drafted him without much due diligence.

Stupid hat guy was a special type of retard though.

Conley is doing decently for DC Defenders in the UFL.
 
Yeah, Conley's flame out tends to get conflated with two factors:

Everyone thought the pick was bad because of his legal situation. Most everyone thought the guy could play.

Turns out it was the opposite. I don't have too much of an issue with that pick as I do with Reggie's other flaming garbage barge of 1st round DBs.
