Wow. Amazing. You went with that BS card too. What an asshole thing to say. You pitch about cops profiling. Now you profile me. Fuck you. Is that clear enough?

Apparently you are one of those ignorant and arrogant people. Do you label others to feel smart? Well, guess what? I’ve been reading your o rants for months. You could use a little chuck and schooling in the law.

Its no biggie man, my personal beliefs influence me on my view of players and sports too. I've got a great belief in "fuck authority" and that is what led me to be a Raider fan in the first place. Sorry you don't like me seeing into your soul, and maybe I'm completely wrong, but now I've got a theory that ticks all the boxes.

No, it’s just funny that you think you know or have some insight to me because I attend church. I was a President of a Fraternity at UCLA known for partying and drug use too. My wife swore she would never go back into our House after a poor experience as a freshman (she is Catholic).

My religious beliefs have nothing to do with my Raider fandom. Or my support for Raiders players, including Carr. In fact, what’s laughable is how his beliefs affect fans negatively. Weird how being a good person and having beliefs bothers others.

Oh, guess I’m learning a little about you. Profiling is bad . . . except when you do it. :chuckle:

I too started my collegiate career as a major in Criminal Justice. I wanted to be a cop or an FBI agent. After two semesters...and meeting with a good number of people in law enforcement...I chose a different path. I realized that many were so jaded they no longer saw people as human beings. I was also a long-haired punk who drove a '68 Mustang and was hassled and pulled over far too frequently to be classified as anything other than being profiled. I had a negative view of 'cops' for many many years.

Fast forward to 2006 when I met the woman who would become my wife (we just celebrated our 13th anniversary on the 26th!). She spent 5 years with Sac PD and then another 15 with the DEA. Through her I met a LOT of amazing men and women in law enforcement. I learned that there are more good cops (far more) than bad cops. I also learned that a bad cop is 100 times more memorable than a good cop. Most of these men and women want to make a difference...and also want to go home at the end of the day to their friends and families.

Most cops I know (i.e. 'the good ones') support the use of body cams, strict psych profiles and more training. They are tired of assholes like this guy ruining the public perception of law enforcement.
It's like you are my twin, except I had a 68 Camaro. I was a long haired hippy who was mercilessly harassed and I wasn't into drugs, vandalism or any crime. I also haven't had the 2nd half of your experience. I haven't met a good cop. That is just my experience though. My question is why don't the good cops out the bad cops?

Okay, I believe you about everything. I find it funny you think Carr is a "good person" though and how you deduce that I dislike him because of his "good person"-ness. In following our conversation, what word would fill in for "good person"? Hmmm.

It’s always sucked being poor. It will always suck. The path to not being poor is not rocket science. Immigrants have always done it and still do it today.

Being unfairly treated for reasons one was born into must totally suck. But the answer is not more government. That will never solve it. The answer lies in the constitution and bible, not bigger government and more politics.
I don't see how the bible helps with financial matters.

I think you are missing the point that the inequality gap is widening more and more. government has to do something because rampant capitalism isn’t working for most people. I don’t think more taxes is good either, it just goes to the corrupt. That is why I am for mandatory profit sharing. I have never even heard a politician propose such a thing but that is what needs to happen.
People here have things pretty good financially imo

I don't see Carr as having qualities that I admire. I prefer courageous people who inspire those around them to be better.

:wtf1:

First, are you so arrogant or in need of being right on a chat board that you wouldn’t believe someone? Just admit it your assumption was wrong and it was a horses ass thing to say.

Second, unlike you, I did not say what you assumed at all. You were the one that brought up Carr and tied it to my reference to my kids being great or “good” people b/c I go to Church with them every Sunday, or to my belief that society would be better off following our constitutional and bible.

Third, you don’t think Carr is a good person? Or you don’t think it rubs some fans the wrong way? It should not even be an issue, now should it?

Who are you talking about in this paragraph?

Exactly what it says. Nothing more, nothing less. Stop trying to dig yourself out of a hole. Just admit you made a stupid comment.

You erroneously tied two things together — my Church attendance and my support for Carr. In response, I commented that I have observed it works the other way (at least here on BR.net).

In response, you turned that observation into one about you. Not everything is about you. If I want to say something about you, I’ll say it directly.

Dude, you used the possessive pronoun "his" in this paragraph. I'm asking you to whom it refers. Seems like a simple enough question.

Good morals, strong family and close communities work for everyone. If people don’t have those things, it’s a shame. They should.
I guess I just don't see those things. The FSM is much better imo.

And I just answered. What don’t you get? It cuts against Carr more than for him. The comment had nothing to do about you.

Cops (some) treating black people unfairly is sure part of all this. But it is far from all of it. What percentage of minorities are in prison compared to the rest of society. How many black guys with minor offenses in for long stretches while wholesale theft by CEOs go with a slap on the wrist. I lived in Nashville years ago. Public schools were terrible. People with money put their kids in private schools. Schools got desegregated by giving poor white trash shit resources too, not by lifting all boats. Gerrymandered districts ensure there was fuck all could be done about it at the voting booth. Subtle keywords coming out that all this shit is just AOK.

People aren't ripping the country apart now because one group of psycho cops killed some guy. That is the flashpoint. People are acting out because they have been fucked over all their lives, their parents were fucked over all their lives, and their grandparents before them.

How about decent health care for big city minorities, what is the plan for that one? Oh, and by the way, about double the percentage of minorities dying than whites in the current covid, and so on and so forth.

Just dumb.. this whole post
