2020 Offseason Roster

It’s not his fault that was drafted to early. I like the guy and I’m not one of those people who dismiss a guy after his rookie season. I remember everyone was ready to run Mack out of town after his rookie season. Shit, I think there was a “Mack is a bust” thread after pre season had ended.

Yah but when the 4th overall pick was ranked pretty much dead last among all edge rushers, that's a turd that's going to be hard to polish. Yeah a lot of guys were down on Mack, including yours truly, but he was doing other things besides getting sacks and then it all came together for him. Ferrell started to come around towards the end of the year.

Im gonna just go with Mayocks research.. I'm not a guy that cracks on a rookie.. I'm the guy that will give any player 3 years.. after the 3rd year if he hasn't improved.. then I'll question the pick... but its still way to early...

People have changed how they remember Macks rookie year. Like he was some scrub who couldnt tie his own shoe laces LOL.

He literally broke pff and their ranking system as the highest graded player ever. We're all quick to use that shitty website when it helps our argument...

He started to take over games late and outside of a slow start never looked over matched. He was a stud for most of his rookie year and damn near everyone knew it.

This whole digging on Mack thing to prop up our shitty rookie is ridiculous.

If we re-drafted the full draft right now, I expect Jacobs and Crosby would both be top 10 picks.

I think one way to look at "a successful draft" is to re-slot the players and add up the draft pick value of those slots. If the draft pick value is higher than your total value that you took into the draft, it's a win. If it's less the value you took into the draft, it's a loss.

I expect the Raiders would come out ahead even with the disconnect between the value of #4 and Ferrell's production.
If we drafted Allen #4, as we should have, we don’t draft Crosby, I firmly believe that. So, I’m pretty happy how it worked out. Mullen, Crosby, Moreau and Renfrow: Home fucking run.

I’d you’re going to tout PFF better include where they had him as a top 5 DE his last 6 games...

People have changed how they remember Macks rookie year. Like he was some scrub who couldnt tie his own shoe laces LOL.

He literally broke pff and their ranking system as the highest graded player ever. We're all quick to use that shitty website when it helps our argument...

I already posted it but PFF loved Ferrell the last 6 games haha why include them for Mack but not Ferrell? They literally had him as a Mack/Bosa caliber player and rated higher than Josh Allen.

Do you feel their rookie years are close? As I said Mack literally broke PFF in 2014. Do you think their career trajectories are on a similar path?

My whole point is that the view on Macks rookie year has warped into some weird way to defend how shitty Clelin Ferrell is. (With regards to where he was picked)

I just went through the Mack thread from 2014 tonight (Thanks for the bump @Nobodyinparticular ) by October the entire forum haters were apologizing for being wrong including myself and by December we all thought we had a future All Pro in house.

These situations are not even remotely close.

Mack was dominant and noticeable to finish his rookie year. Ferrell is a guy that is in our rotation who didnt play terrible the last month while he racked up 6 epic solo tackles in his last 6 games.

Its comparing apples to unicorns.

My whole point is the way you’re using PFF here is stupid since you’re using it for one player as proof you’re right and not using it for another player. As you know this whole sub had Mack as a disappointment his first two months so why are we using PFF to prove he was actually a stud and was off the charts as a rookie? It’s just a disingenuous argument.

I’ve been pretty consistent on Ferrell. He was disappointing his first 10 games. I really liked what I saw his last 6. If he can improve on the last 6 I think we’ll be happy with the pick if he plays more like that next year. Of course I don’t think Ferrell is as good as Mack was but that wasn’t what I was talking about haha
