Arizona executes killer by lethal injection
Tue May 22, 2007 4:32PM EDT

PHOENIX (Reuters) - Arizona executed a 50-year-old man by lethal injection
on Tuesday for the murder of a camper in 1987, state prison officials said.

Robert Charles Comer, convicted of the murder of Larry Pritchard, was put to death
at 10 a.m. at the Arizona State Prison complex in Florence, southeast of Phoenix.

When asked if he had any last words, witnesses reported that Comer smiled and
said, "Yes, Go Raiders!" in what appeared to be a reference to the Oakland, California,
professional football team.

Comer had withdrawn his federal appeals and refused to attend a clemency hearing
in recent weeks.

For his last meal Comer requested fried okra, four buns and two slices of banana bread
with butter and salt.

Comer was on death row for more than 19 years for shooting Pritchard in the head on
February 3, 1987, at a campground near Apache Lake, east of Phoenix.

He also attacked a young couple at a neighboring campsite, hog-tying the man to a car
fender and repeatedly raping the woman during a drive through a wilderness area.

Comer was the 23rd person to be executed in the state since Arizona resumed capital
punishment in 1992. There are 112 inmates on the state's death row.

The guy was scum, but that's a pretty good choice of last words... He should have topped it off with the "FU Kansas City" cherry to make it even sweeter...

We're only violent towards Charger fans.

CHARGERS FAN'S EAR IS REATTACHED

Source: Daily News Wire Services
A 45-year-old man had his ear reattached after it was bitten off by an Oakland Raiders fan and spit back in his face during a fight at a San Diego sports bar Sunday after the Chargers defeated the Eagles, 27-21. Michael Burrows was released from the University of California, San Diego Medical Center on Monday. Surgeons rejoined the piece of ear, which measured 2 inches by 1 inch. Police said Burrows and Carl Anthony Ditmars, 30, scuffled on the floor at Fat Freddie's.

This should not be as funny as I find it to be.

Broncos' Kircus hit with assault charge

Broncos receiver David Kircus missed the team's mini-camp workout Monday.

He was at the Arapahoe County sheriff's office being charged with second- degree assault, a Class 4 felony stemming from an altercation Kirkus was allegedly involved in about 3:20 a.m. Sunday outside the Centennial home of Jeff Krieger.

There's a good chance Kircus also will miss the Broncos' morning meetings today. After posting a $6,000 bond for his release Monday, Kircus is due back at Arapahoe County District Court at 8:30 a.m. today.

The big question for Kircus, though, is whether the incident will cost him his job with the Broncos.

"Obviously if he didn't handle himself the right way he won't be with us," Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said. "But I'm going to let the due process take care of itself first and find out exactly what the situation is."

At the very least, Kircus is guilty of bad timing. The NFL has put the issue of players' off-field behavior on heightened alert after a year in which Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was murdered, and players such as Adam "Pacman" Jones, Chris Henry and Tank Johnson were involved in multiple incidents with the law.

With the league's reputation at stake, first-year commissioner Roger Goodell recently drew up a stiffer personal-conduct policy that features harsher penalties. Jones was suspended for a year, and Henry received an eight-game suspension that could be extended after he reportedly failed another drug test. Johnson also may be disciplined by the league.

Against this backdrop of lower tolerance came the incident involving Kircus. According to an Arapahoe County sheriff's department report, Kircus was invited by a female acquaintance to a party at Krieger's home.

Witnesses said that while at the party, there was a disagreement between the woman and Kircus. Krieger interceded, repeatedly telling Kircus to leave. At around 3:20 a.m., Kircus was near his truck at the end of Krieger's driveway when an altercation took place.

Kircus allegedly punched Krieger, who suffered multiple facial fractures and was taken by friends to Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree. It wasn't until Krieger was at the hospital that police were summoned to his home by witnesses, arriving at 4:27 a.m. Krieger underwent facial surgery and was released from the hospital Monday morning.

Initially, Arapahoe County planned to order Kircus to participate in a lineup for positive identification, but the exercise was deemed unnecessary as the investigation continued.

"There were plenty of witnesses who recognized (Kircus)," said Capt. Brice Moomaw, the Arapahoe County spokesman for the case.

Shanahan said Kircus' version of the incident was considerably different from the accounts told by those at Krieger's party, indicating there may be a question about who instigated the altercation.

"You don't know if a guy's defending himself, or the guy punches you, or throws a punch and does hit you," Shanahan said.

Said Moomaw: "I guess that's what the court system is there for. There's enough to substantiate the charges."

Kircus will get a day in court this morning. He will be represented by high-profile attorney Harvey Steinberg. To be sure, Kircus has much at stake. There is the possible punishment within the judicial system - a conviction of a Class 4 felony can carry a sentence of two to six years imprisonment - and there is the possible consequence levied by the Broncos.

"Let's find out if he's guilty or not," Shanahan said. "If he's guilty, then he'll pay the penalty. If he's not, then he'll be with us."

Robin Quivers just mentioned this on the Howard Stern Show on Sirius. They all were laughing, and Artie Lange said "That's a typical Raiders Fan" ............

Love it,,,,,,,,,,

I don't love it. It perpetuates the stereotype that we're all idiots.

I guess I should have put the  next to my Love it,,,,,,, Comment. Trust me everytime someone interviews a Raider Fan or does a Story about them they seem like they got the lowest form of being to talk about. It's usually a guy with some teeth missing or some gangbanger looking ruff-neck (not that there is anything wrong with that) that really can't express them selves. SORRY I Didn't Mean To Offend!

Good to hear from you TG.
Is it just me, or can anyone else relate to this analogy.

This forum is a lot like the sleep overs I remember as a kid. We'd be up all night, doing things we really weren't supposed to be doing (Like blogging instead of work, chores, time with family), enjoying the guilty pleasure of indulgence.
Then the nice parent would come in and warn us that it was time to go to bed or stop breaking the rules (This is you Bones). After that, when everyone knew they should control themselves and go to sleep, the mean parent would come in (This is you TG) and really make you feel bad. "People are trying to sleep," or "We have to get up early and go to work," and all the kids would just clam up. Apologize even. Promise to not do it again. Secretly wanting the approval. When TG enters the thread they guys all straighten up and fly right.

Damn I thought you were explaining the media's stereotyping on black people in my area. It must be the black in our clothing that offends America while teams that where white at home like the Cowboys and teams that where red white and Blue like the Pats get all the love. The NFL killed Jimmy Hoffa, thats all I have to say.

Seriously, we can fight the stereotype all we want, but it is better to just accept it. I would bet that most jails in this country are best represented by Raider fans. Even if we don't like it, we also all know it is a big part of why we are all fans of this team. The Raiders perpetuate an image and attitude that stands for being a rebel. If you want to like your team for another fruitier reason, go across the Bay or to KC.

I also like the fact that I can get out of most potential mugging scenarios by saying I too am a Raider fan. :p

Arrrrrrrgh

Dumbest thread ever!

See mass, this one-uped the 'other' dumbest thread ever :o

Bones, give me another chance and I can easily beat the piss out of this thread for dumbness.

Sheesh. Way to keep people starting threads on this board, Mr. Administrator.

Poppa, I'm all for rebellion and the big, bad Raider image. This guy killed someone and raped another. Is that "rebellion?"

Maybe you sholuld have tried that all those years that TG was jacking you for your lunch money, you soft no kung fu having hairyback Mary...

Sheesh. Way to keep people starting threads on this board, Mr. Administrator.

TG, no...it is not rebellion....unless it was an done to an alien that had been anal probing him.

[Side note] HBoy, how is the whole trying to be abducted by the aliens for a free anal probe coming along? [/side note]

I shake my head at a good portion of our fanbase TG. Always have, and always will. For all the good ones we have, we have just as many Fangs out there it seems. Thank goodness they have not figured out how to use the internet yet. At least we have this haven to gather in away from them, no?

He's right... BPP could bombard us with a level of dumbness not seen since the likes of one of SERIOUS7's mock drafts.
