I remember a time when I actually would know who people were pretty deep through round 6. A 7 here and there. Now? lol, dude I have no idea after like the top 10-20 picks, it’s getting worse every year I’m just not into it. It all started with that new format for me.
I'm pretty good up through the first two rounds. After that I only recognize a few notable names in round 3 and here and there the rest of the way:wtf1:

Just do some mock drafts and look up some of the names at positions of need for us in the mid and late rounds when we are picking. See what others think of them and make your own evaluation

That’s if you give a rats ass. If not then carry on 🤙🏻

My take: there are less than a dozen 1st round grades regardless of position. That leaves 20+ 1st round selections, which will see a run on top prospects at premium positions. If true, BPA at 2.36 will be a DT, an IOL or a S. Safety would be my call but DT is who we have brought in. C. Johnson CB is my hope if OT, WR, S and McDonald don’t fall. All rights reserved.
I forgot about Kirwin who I guess was with the Raiders way back as a coach or scout maybe?.. I dunno, but he's one of my favorite NFL guys on there..

Funny stance from a GM that rarely tried to move around in the first. I guess he was just lucky one of those 14-15 1st rounders were always available at his pick.
Maybe he's just risk-averse and/or miserly with his resources... the complete opposite of Al Davis I suppose..

Watch film of the prospects on You Tube with your PC or Laptop.
Not just highlight films. Game films, defense vs offense.

Yeah, at least the top guys there's usually cut ups of player in specific games, that's usually a good way to get a better sense if ya want to nerd out on it.

Correct. If you can find it. Sometimes 3min videos is all you can find. But breakdowns via video or articles on that player is good too. Just getting the lowdown on strengths and weaknesses. Like some of the late pick OL for example, you get to see enough to see if they fit in Kubz’ ZB system

You guys are over analyzing it.

Just look up the PFF grade and cross reference with my draft guide.

You have to watch the actual games to really get a feeling of who a player is down for down. Watching cut-ups of a guys pass rushing snaps won't tell you if he's standing around picking his nose the rest of the time. I don't personally have the time or interest for all that though, so I'll just defer to the rest of you experts.

Yeah. I usually search for player name + NFL draft. May not be long, and O-line is the biggest hole of guys not covered.

Bryce Lance is my WR target in round 4. If he's gone, found a 4 minute highlight of a guy with a 9.88 RAS.

De'Zhaun Stribling. A good backshoulder guy with a big frame and late hands.

Why even do that? I can just look at a nice simple color coded red and green evaluation in simple numbers and call it a day.

The problem with articles with breakdowns and strength and weaknesses is your relying on someone else’s eyes and judgement.
It’s subjective.
Every player has strength and weaknesses.
Some of these people who write these breakdowns contradict themselves.
Ex: Strength- Player is quick twitch and has deep speed.
Weakness- Player can’t get separation.
Trust YOUR eyes. Not someone else’s.:D

I have a feeling the Raiders will draft UM’s kicker. I don’t see how letting Carlson go for Matt Gay is an upgrade at all. Camp vet competition for the rookie K.
It is not. Spytek signed Gay due to familiarity. Tampa drafted Gay during his tenure.
