He is one of the finalists in this years HOF election... While not as sexy as Bruce Mathews hes definately a HOFer in my book... And he should be in waaaay before TD is a consideration.
 
Terrell Friggin' Davis...ya know the guy who had 1-2 good years in his entire career.
 
Wiz deserves it, but he won't go first ballot. He's a Raider, and that seems to be a mark against you.

You mean the guy who at one point carried his entire team on his back to win a SB? The dude put up 30 rushes for 157 yards and 3 TDs to beat GB in 1998.

That dude was a beast.
 
He was a beast. For about 4 or 5 years.

As for Wiz, no way he gets in this year... and it may be quite some time before he gets it (if he gets it) because while we all loved the fact that he had a mean streak, he was perceived by a lot of sports writers as being a dirty player. Combine that with the "too many Raiders in the Hall" mentality of some voters (as Dr. Z alluded to a year or two ago) and I don't think he gets in within the next couple of years.

Love the guy, but I'm calling it like I see it.
 
Well yeah I guess he did have 4 monster years. Is that enough to get him into the HOF? Probably but then there are others who have had longer careers with great results and they don't get it...
 
I love Wiz but they won't vote him in because people already Hate us and say we have too many poeple in there....but someone explain why Ray Guy isn't in !!!!!!!
 
I concur that Wiz isn't a first ballot selection. I think there are more deserving Raiders like Stabler, Guy, Branch, Lester Hayes. No doubt TD had a nice 4 year run but that's not enough to get him in the HOF. Rich Gannon had a similar run but he's not deserving either IMO.
 
Yeah, Wiz'll get in the same year as Jack Tatum.....:rolleyes:

Never happen. He was a great guard for some real bad teams, AND had a well-deserved nasty rep. No chance.
