Winter Olympics

Gavin is universally hated, we've been over this...

I don't want to see it from anyone though, for reals.

So is Potus so I don't see the difference. No to mention all the Biden memes which was apparently cool. Can't have it both ways. Anyone who doesn't like my posts or my memes can feel free to block me. Why do you think a lot of the good posters left this forum?

We beat them in that 4 country thing or whatever it was not that long ago.

I thought there was something.

So...the guys Team USA beat twice would win the next eight if they played ten times? Seems like a rather dubious claim.

What is the USA men's hockey team's record vs. Canada at the Olympics?

The two teams have met 19 times at the Olympics, according to The Sporting News, with Canada going 12-4-3 against Team USA. They last played in the preliminary round of the 2022 Beijing Games, with the U.S. winning 4-2. The most recent knockout-round matchup between the two was in the semifinals of the 2014 Sochi Games, which Canada won 1-0.

The U.S. and Canada have faced off in the gold-medal game twice under the current Olympic format, with Canada winning 3-2 in 2010 and 5-2 in 2002.

Why you wanna bring up old shit? It's a new day!

Just proving my point homie.

Did you, though? We're talking about the teams as they exist today. What do the teams of 4 or 20-something years ago have to do with anything?

You have to base it on something and unequivocally Canada still is the superior squad. @007? Just like Russia was still the dominant team in 1980 even after their loss to the US.

So based on you logic, say we beat KC next season (both teams at full strength). You're implying that we just throw out their dominance over us the past 8-9 years because it doesn't apply and we are just the better team now because we upset them in one game.

The teams are very closely matched. The closest they have ever been.

USA has a Goalie and Defense advantage and the Canadians have the forwards.

I'm excited for all the battles to come. Its not anymore important than that lol.

USA women have climbed way past the Canadian women though. Thats becoming a mismatch more times than not.

How does this all work? Do they play each other again before the next winter Olympics?

Haha shit.

Yeah there are world championships every year but the rosters are limited to who is available because of the NHL playoffs, 4 nations cup happens during the All Star break I think every two years (Like high level tournament with a few teams). Olympics etc.

Both teams are really good and one team scored the OT winner for Gold lol. Its about as complicated as that.

League games interfering with worldwide tournaments. Hockey is just a pain in the ass, sounds like.

Honestly I would like to see them going back to the amateur format. I'm not sure how I feel about a 3 on 3 format in OT as well. I guess it beats a shootout.

I'd much rather watch a 3 on 3. Not a big fan of shootouts to end the game, seems a little anticlimactic. I'd rather just see 5 on 5 until the next goal. Especially in a gold medal game.
