I actually think current SF is a better point of reference for how much talent you have to accumulate to get away with a QB that probably doesn’t make the league if he lands on a number of other teams. Not just player talent but coaching creativity talent.
I agree with this, but he may be the best offensive coach in the league. Could you imagine him with Mahomes? Half of you still in the Bay Area would be in padded cells by now if not actually moved to the east coast.

Thank god for small favors.

His dad has a tried and true version of a scheme if you accumulate the proper personnel(Kubiak did well with it too). But without specific personnel it’s kind of a dud. I don’t think he can adapt when it isn’t working.

Isn’t Kubiaks kid in SF too ?

The Renz kid made a good point if we don’t keep Champ we may get the guy from SF and that could lead to Kubiak’s kid being our OC., all assuming we keep AP

Is Klint Kubiak good?

I have no fucking clue… is he like the QB coach for them ? Shit has to run off on him at some point. Kid could be 11 for all I know.. still would be an upgrade

I’m not sure if you’re disagreeing or agreeing with me lol.
It wasn't the terrible night people are making it out to be and I would definitely take his play over Penix's. My biggest beef was they called some quick strike stuff that wasn't really there and he should have not thrown it. He had a couple misfires for sure too, but he also had some really great throws and nice runs.

I heard that actually was not his dad, can't confirm or deny though.

One was McCarthy, the other was Dilfer. Completing less that 60 percent of your passes is no bueno, especially in college football. The biggest difference between him and Penix was that Michigan didn't need McCarthy to do anything to win, but it still got closer than it probably should have because McCarthy couldn't do anything. Congrats on the title, the better team won, but McCarthy ain't it homie.

He did enough to win. I'm not calling him some great QB or first rounder or anything, I'm saying his game was better than people are making it out to be. Are you using a super bowl winning performance here to knock him?

I'm saying you look silly trying to make it sound like he had a good game.

Based on yesterday's performance, would you be more or less likely to want to draft him?

When did I say he had a good game? He had an ok game though, it wasn't the disaster people are making it out to be.
I personally think he should stay in school another year. If I was going to draft him it would need to be later. He has a good arm and accuracy and he's a good runner. He needs a situation where he has to carry a team with his arm though and not be protected the way he is at Michigan to really know who he is though. I would take him over Penix to be honest, I think that guy is going to be a disaster in the NFL. JJ is likely a Dilfer/Brad Johnson level player.

Fair enough, a disaster would have been costing them the game. I wouldn't say he almost did because I don't think it was in doubt at any point, but had Penix been slightly better that's a conversation we might be having today. To me, yesterday was really just about seeing guys that might be on the Raiders radar in the job interview of a lifetime. I think both QBs flunked the audition.
