Baltimore’s current identity is Lamar Jackson. Replace him with a guy that completes 10 passes a game and they’re a speed bump for whoever else is winning that division. McCarthy’s stat line tonight was on par with Dilfer’s SB run.

I don’t disagree… but it is still a run based thing that kicks it all off..

Dilfer didn’t run the ball in Baltimore and wasn’t exactly a threat to run either. That kid just changed the game with two big time runs into traffic and split two defenders. Bit looked like Lamar for a minute lol.. okay so that’s a stretch….

I think we’re just focusing on two different things. I agree that stout defense and running the ball plays in the NFL. I disagree that you can get away with what Harbaugh has been doing hiding McCarthy all season and have SB aspirations. It’s basically what AP has been doing with AO’C and every single one of us is calling for a new QB and play caller. I don’t want to keep arguing the point though. We’ll find out soon enough lol.

We are. We both know QB is the catalyst you can’t just ignore it and have AO'C shit in the back.. you need a Kap or Josh or someone who can do a bit of both.. JJ ain’t it in the pros either from what I have seen

I mean Jim has been adopting a lot of John’s philosophies to improve his college team on both sides of the ball and had one of the premier mobile run first QB’s in SF for a stretch. Lamar Jackson indirectly got drafted because of Kaepernick. Harbaugh mania and what not.

My whole thing was about having a dominant OL that can win via the run not really live by the run.. The current Ravens QB just changes the formula on how they are able to dominate in a run game. It’s fun to watch but at its core the run and or threat of the run opens shit up for the rest of the O.. not necessarily the RB’s running the ball.

This is kind of why am so interested in Daniels as we all are.. can he be Lamar and completely change how teams have to defend us… Harbaugh with Daniels? Yes please he can definitely make that work quite well IMO. Harbaugh with Nix ???? Well umm ahhh.., I would worry a bit to be honest. Then again he did win with Alex fucking Smith for a while ..

A good majority of fans here have been harping on this for many many years when wanting to upgrade at QB.

Running QBs, mobile creators who can throw it or pick up first downs. The game has changed quite a bit.

There just isnt more than a couple pure pocket passer statues around anymore. I think it actually simplifies offenses and is easier to coach with how much OL skill has diminished and DL athleticism is blowing up.

I think I said in another thread I don’t think Penix fits Harbaugh.. I think Penix will be fine in the NFL. He just needs a strong running game and a few good WR’a that can play the boundary. IMO Al would have loved Penix and we probably would have taken him #1 given the chance to move up.

I actually think current SF is a better point of reference for how much talent you have to accumulate to get away with a QB that probably doesn’t make the league if he lands on a number of other teams. Not just player talent but coaching creativity talent.
