Who should the raiders look to draft at QB?

Who should we get? (Explain how we get in comments if it needs trading up)

It's interesting how everyone views these guys differently. I would love hear the debates in NFL war rooms.
To be fair he’s not really the guy I want at all. I’m more of a Bo Nix guy, but I can see why people think MayeB offers some of the most predictable upside in the draft. All the rest may need a special wrinkle from their OC to unlock their potential. MayeB shouldn’t have to worry about ever being a square peg in a round hole.

We could do a lot worse than grabbing MayeB

While #RaiderNation focuses on AP’s connection to Jayden Daniels, who could end up QB2 by time April arrives, it’s worth noting that GM Telesco took Justin Herbert with Chargers and Drake Maye has lot of similar traits to Herbert.

Should be interesting draft room discussions.

Derake Deluxe?

Telesco took Herbert because that’s who dropped to their pick.

TDL Boys have JJ in the T4 with Maye and Daniels, with a gap between Bo and Penix, who could make 6 QB’s in the 1st. Because JJ keeps his eyes downfield, he extends and makes more plays than Daniels, who is more likely to tuck, run or get sacked.

As most of the pre-draft hype has surrounded this QB class, as we get closer to the draft, some position player should rise as well. They really liked LSU’s WR Nabors, for example, who LAC could draft at #5 and be a big problem for us.

I don’t think you can rise much higher than what Nebors is already. Sure he could pass Harrison, but aside from that he’s already a projected lock top 10 pick unless something happens at combine.

Odunze is the other WR that will probably go in top 10 and I wouldn’t be shocked to see Thomas Jr sneak up into the top 15 picks.

This is a bigger WR class. I could be wrong but I don’t think we’ve had such a tall WR class with as many projected top 100 ish picks in a while. I think all these guys are projected to be over 6’3” and I know I am missing one or two

Harrison Jr
Odunze
Thomas Jr
Coleman
Mitchell
Legette
Wilson

Dotting my T's and crossing my I's on the Caleb Williams evaluation. He and Drake Maye are as close as can be on my board, but if you have Williams as QB1, no complaints from me. He's an off-script assassin and creative prodigy with more than enough of a foundation in-structure.

Caleb’s ability to extend plays and work off script Daniels needs to work on. Hopefully keeping his eyes downfield is a skill Daniels can develop . . . if he’s are pick.

BTW, if you are NE, do you take a lesser offer from the Birds or Vikes to trade Daniels out of the AFC? Or do you just take the best perceived offer? If there is an in-conference bias, here’s hoping Chi keeps Fields, NE drafts Maye and Ariz or NYG want to trade down with us.

Recent sweet spots for trading up:
  • March 10: ‘23 Cats/Bears trade
  • March 17: ‘18 Jets/Colts trade
  • March 26: ‘21 ‘9ers/Fish trade

I’m not saying don’t do it, but damn not a whole lot of those big trade ups work out for the team moving up in the end as far as player goes. So with any luck we know by end of March

Good info to have and it wouldn't shock me if we struck a deal in March to get in the top three, if we were serious about giving up a massive haul. Rams traded to 1st overall in 2016 about a week and a half before the draft.

TT doesn’t need any of that RAS PFF SPARQ shit. They just need to pass the eye test
