He's 21. Yes he needs to develop more.
Harbaugh ideally wants to run the ball and play defense. Thats how you beat Ohio State. You dont try and throw the ball around vs teams like that. Michigan was built to destory Ohio State and everyone else they faced by clock control. Harbaugh wants to run the ball and play defense.
So "Alabama had a bad defense" is your answer when he does good? I show you passing stats vs and playoff team and you say... oh they suck. All while they have tons and tons of talent and one loss on the season? No excuses for Alabama lol. Their QB sucked and thats why they lost. He couldnt throw the ball like JJ did. Bama had the QB who couldnt get it done. That was the difference.
Here's a video of Josh Norris and Hayden Wick ranking JJ 3rd overall. Over Daniels & MH Jr. etc People act like the very best draft guys don't love this prospect. Its not just Michigan fans.
"3 and 5 plus situations, I would argue JJ McCarthy film is the best of all these prospects" - Josh Norris
He says that he runs and pro offense, makes all the pro throws and works the middle of the field where NFL QB's thrive. etc
He does have that as his philosophy, but when he was at Stanford, Andrew Luck was passing the ball all over the place. I get it. The Big 10 fucking sucks outside of two or three teams, so you don't need to do that much and can run the ball down everybody's throat, but the fact is that his tape isn't pointing to he's a definite stud in the league. Also, no one cares how old he is coming into the league. You have to show you're a starter by the end of year two, or they're going to move on from you. We literally just saw this with all of the 2020 class of QBs aside from T-Law. Hell, if that happens with AP as his coach, we all know what's going to happen to him and in turn what's going to happen to McCarthy.
