Are we just tired of each other? Have we formed such strong opinions of others that we just can't talk about football anymore and share options without this kind of hateful name calling? I notice that some long time members have stopped posting altogether. I don't know if they have just left the forum or are just consumed with the troubles of the world. I suspect it's more the former ... it's just getting tiring.

To start here is what we're going to do.
  1. We're closing the Carr thread. Nothing good is coming form that discussion and it's totally counterproductive.
  2. We're also closing the Random Thoughts thread because it has too often gone off the rails and posters just can't stop with the political references. I've explained so many times why political discussion isn't welcome here but I guess it's a hard concept to grasp.
  3. We'll create a COVID-19 thread in the NST forum and ask that we keep the discussion contained to issues related to the virus, i.e. vaccines, solutions, trends, PPE etc. Do not let your opinions of government's handling of the situation leak into the conversation or we'll close that thread too. Remember everybody has an opinion and that is okay. If you feel it necessary to debate somebody's opinion do it respectfully.

Maybe you have suggestions on how we can get back to a reasonable discussion forum about the Raiders and sports in general. I realize this is a tough time for everybody with what is happening in the world and that we all have a lot of extra time on our hands but there is no reason for this kind of behavior.


With all that said, if anybody feels it's too difficult to get back to a normal discussion format please feel free to leave and find a place that is more to your liking. I have tried to provide a place for us to congregate and talk about the Raiders. I have footed the bill completely out of my own pocket. I've never ask for money, never put ads on the site to annoy everybody but really it's getting tiring. To be honest I have considered closing this thing down as it's really becoming difficult to wade through all the hateful posts aimed at one another. I hope it doesn't come to that but it might.

I give credit where credit is due. I won't regurgitate my time bumping boards. This is a damn fine site. Anyone who has spent the time here more than I will attest to it.
Losing takes its toll. Not just on this board, but every other board I bumped since the Merc paper boards.

I have respect for those that carry the financial burden, let alone the unenviable task of the mods who try and keep shit sane.

Having been an ADMIN/MOD and everything in between I know the sacrifice. I truly enjoy and respect this place and try to contribute to its success and will continue to do so.

I wish I could say better times are coming.

I preciate you and those that let castoffs like me find a place to commiserate with the downtrodden. :beerbang:
 
I think this place has bottomed out as much as the Raiders have.
On the bright side, the only way left to go is up. Right?
Or is their a subterranean level?

I wake up every day to like 7 poop emojis from @007 on bad takes I had. Some as far back as 2017. I think I even got an email from KFFL saying I was PM’d a poop emoji the other week from a take I had back in 1999. It’s not all that serious
