What do you guys think of Kenoy Kennedy?

Yo B....I always kind of liked the guys game. He always played well in Denver...not sure how he's been in Detroit. But he had a solid game and tackled well. He's not going to "maul" anyone or Ronnie Lott ya but I remember him playing the line well and was decent in mid-range coverage. I'd take a chance on that cat...I think he had bad hands though??? I thought I remember that guy dropping more than a few int's in his life????
 
his coverage isnt anything to write home about

but the guy can straight up lay somebody out

i wouldnt mind seeing Kenoy come in for a year, and then (i know its way too early) go after Taylor Mays in the 2009 draft.
 
We just need an in the box guy that can hit hard and allow us to move Huff to FS. I think he'd be a relatively inexpensive stop gap for a year or two while we try to groom a SS for the umpteenth time.
 
He's a hard hitter, i'm really skeptical about his coverage as of late. Looks slower the past two years. If he's the best SS available, then i guess take a look at him.

I think we need more than that out of our SS. He has to be able to cover the TE's and RB's that'll come at him. Kenoy might be able to do the job though. I mean as far as playing deep and covering, he's fairly decent. dont ever remember him seeing much time in the box though covering the ground we made Huff cover. Either way he seems competent. I wonder what type of price tage he carries :confused:

Actually his mauled the shit out of guys making deep catches over the middle in detroit. He's not going to smash San Diego's LT in the mouth, But if you are a WR you feel pretty mauled...lol
 
green bay made a stud out of undrafted atari bigby... I'd rather just take a chance on a bunch of late round/UFAs and hope one pans out
 
If I had my druthers, I just assume take a run at Gibril Wilson. He's younger, from the Bay Area, will command more than Kennedy but we should be solid at the safety position for a few years.
 
I wouldn't mind, as long its not its not a long term solution, since he's 30 and probably only has 2-5 years left in the tank as a SS. If we could get a quality S in the draft, I'd be thrilled, as it would keep our D young and potentially together for years.

I doubt we cash out on a Safety FA. In fact I think Kenoy may end up being our option if we go that route and he doesnt demand more than a 2-3 year deal.
 
I mention him becasue we can't find a saftey in the draft :) and without a 3rd and 5th round pick I suspect we won't be this season either.

He's not the end all, but if we have Huff in his natural position and our corners keep blossoming into a great group, I think he'd do fine... I mean hey guys, we're not going to be elite at every position. If we can put a couple elite guys at every level and surround them with decent guys we should be good enough.

Anyhow, he's only 30, he's listed at 6', 210-215. I'd think he'd be pretty athletic/rangy for a SS ... he's definatly not the feet-in-concrete-blocks type of guy often put there, and he can come up and smack some people. He doesn't get alotta int's, but he forces a few fumbles every season.

I think he'd be a decent upgrade. Good enough to move Huff to FS and say adios to Swieg.

If could knock some donkys out a couplea times a year, that'd be a nice bonus.
 
I'd prefer to in another direction. I just want the hitter we have lacked for years. I want the second comming of Lott/Tatum
 
I'd certainly take a look at Tom Zbikowski if he's there in the 4th. Another player that intrigues me is Caleb Campbell from Army. He's undoubtedly the biggest safety in the draft, good speed, and loves to hit. Typically service academy players are overlooked but apparently the army will let him forego his service obligation to play in the NFL.
 
Im hoping for Gibril Wilson personally.

Most hitters miss alot too. I'd want a controlled hitter who brings them down more often than going for lights out. Kenoy fits that bill somewhat. I'd try him out for 2 years. He isnt a softy, like i said he'll smash you if you go over the middle.
 
ive got a few guys that could be our late round S projects this year.

I like him too.

Didn't Al coach at Army or VMI or some military type school for a season or two when he first started out?
