Welcome to the team - WR Jack Bech

I'm all about giving our rooks from last year a chance this year to step up and prove it was the coaches, not the players, causing the issues. If they fail now, it's all on them.
Wonder whether which rook played last year tracked a divide between SpyGuy and Pete? Jeanty (1st) and Porter (3rd) played. Bech (2nd), Grant (comp 3rd) and Thornton (4th) hardly played. Rogers (comp 3rd) got on the field. IDK if that was out of necessity or if Pete liked him.

Thornton was shoved into the starting lineup initially. Must have hurt Pete's feelings to move him down the depth chart when he failed to make a dent.

After seeing this draft I’m not so sure Thornton was a “Pete guy” I kinda think Spyguy likes to swing for the dances in the 4th

He's definitely not afraid to gamble once Day 3 comes around.

I’m good with that. We will hit and miss from time to time but I do think when he does hit it will a big hit.

Maybe now we have a coaching staff capable of putting these kids in a position to hit.

I liked it. Not sure what it means. But I liked it.

He got his redshirt season to learn. Now’s the time to step up or get lapped.

Red-shirt? Fucking stinky Pete shirt.

The only rookie who had an issue we could see last season was Thornton. Coming out of young Lance's O the kid had no serious route running or other basic WR skills. But the damned HC forced him into the lineup and he posted numbers week 1. Tape was there, and was it.

Other than Jeanty, no other rookie was given a shot. Porter played like a rookie with promise, but Kyu-Blue Kelly got the starts. Hemingway and Pegues looked decent but weren't even active until well after the season was effectively over. Same for Grant and Rogers.

The HC knew Thornton from before Tennessee (Oregon?) and liked him as a downfield blocker.

Porter only played when Kelly and his three interception could not.

The unlamented EX-HC did not play any other rookies because even after being eliminated from the playoffs useless vets "give us the best chance to win."

That Josh Heupel Tennessee offense does no favors for their WR’s going to the next level.
Don’t they just do that half field read shit.

I think we'll know much more about all these guys this year. The offense will be schematically better. Hopefully, some of them will show something. It would be nice if Bech, for example turns into the main possession type WR for FM, or Grant can turn into a solid long term tackle.
