Welcome to the team - Trey Zuhn

Still curious what we do at RT. No way we just give Glaze the starting gig. I’d like to see Grant get a crack there and think he can win a starting job. Is Zuhn gonna get a look there at all?
Does Glaze look better at RT with a coach who coaches, a scheme that actually has a cohesive strategy, and 4 guys to his left who know what the gell they’re doing?

I think the staff likes Glaze more than we do and blames last year's staff and Geno.
I would like to shore up that position competition still. I think there are still some options, did anyone take Isaiah World?

No.

The Office gif. Steve Carell as Michael looks up with sad eyes and a big frown on his face, disappointedly shaking his head.

This is a weird one for me. It looks like they went with a guy that has versatility to come off the bench and plug in at multiple positions.
We will probably see what he looks like at LT this year.

Nice breakdown. I assume this video was taped before Zuhn ran at the combine and put up silly numbers for a 312 lb man. But Zuhn didn’t do agility drills, which likely makes him look not as athletic on the field as he is in terms of running and jumping. The big knock seemed to be strength, followed by hands/arm technique. Both can be coached up, which is where the video concluded. Zuhn is 6’6.5” (not 6’7”) and less than 15% of NFL OG are that tall. I’m guessing where these types of OT conversions have found success is in wide zone blocking schemes. But you might be right and the team cross trains Zuhn across the entire OL, including at LT.

It's pretty apparent they want o-lineman that can move and get to the second level.

Whatever they do it won't be incompetent as it was last year so that alone will bring some improvement.

I literally watched running plays last year that were dead before the ball was even snapped, no audible or anything.

Normally I'd have concerns about a near 6'7 guy playing guard. But, if he looked good at center, I assume he can get low enough to play guard.

DJ compared him to Max Unger. That's exciting.
Indeed. You mean the 6’4.5”, slow and can’t jump but agile with 34” arms Unger? That comp would not have jumped off the page. lol

Renner thinks he can start from day 1 and I tend to agree. Roger is going to have to bring it.

When you can pass protect, quickest way to see playing time as an OL.

This pick sure seems to be the kind of pick you make when you realize trotting out Will Putnam, Alex Cappa and Jordan Meredith is not good for the offense. This guys should be at worse a solid back up, and could well start at guard
