Welcome to the team - RB Ashton Jeanty

This isn't the 1970's anymore. Kids these days are mentally fragile. OG is a more important position than C and JPJ has the skill set to be elite at OG. If the staff wants their best player at the most important position then suck that shit up and do it. The position battle likely has little to do with skill set and everything to do with attitude. By all evidence the issue is that he's a man child.
Throwing players under the bus in public is not something I would ever get behind, the whole team is watching this go down.

The Raiders need a coach, Pete's not it.

Throwing him under the bus how? By saying he's competing for his position? He is competing for his position. Just probably not for the reasons you think. You're right though, the whole team is watching and if he really is being as immature as it's starting to sound, they're likely behind the coaching staff 100%.

If he’s being immature leaders like Maxx or Kolton need to step in and mentor him. From what Maxx said that was the case last year but he’s turned it around this season

I very much doubt they are behind the coaching staff.

It will probably all come out sooner rather than later.

TWT. He's a talented kid but there's more to it than we're seeing, IMO.

I'm sure there is plenty of blame to go around but the best thing JPJ can do is put his head down and go to work. If they want him at guard, go out and dominate at guard. How you carry yourself when you don't get what you want, when you want it is everything.

He bucked and they have made an example out of him is what this is.
They got their way, there is no need.

It puzzles me that you think this isn't how it's supposed to work. The millennials got to you.

Making an example out of people isn't the way to getting the most out of them, far from it.

There's no one way of doing things. Partnership and collaboration, micro managing, getting dictated to... it's all in what a person chooses to respond to. It seems over two regimes, JPJ has chosen the most difficult path for himself. Might be time for him to look in the mirror and take inventory.

Well looking at our staff over the years there’s absolutely no evidence of helping players get better so we can easily assume they’re doing it wrong

There's no evidence they're competent at player acquisition either so maybe he's just not that good.

I do think that's part of it. AP was talking about him like he was a Hall of Famer already, and we can be sure Telesco thought highly of him since he drafted him in the second round.

Valid point

JMO but I think he's pretty good, needs to grow up, and the guys in the locker room are fine with him taking his lumps until he figures out how to carry himself like a pro. For you Dubs fans here, pretty reminiscent of the Kuminga situation.

They made an example out of him by starting him at guard? Not following here.
There has never been a competition, and he was never beat out or been competing for anything.
You probably are not going to understand that though.
