Wonder how butt hurt champ is right now?

I'd be pretty salty if I was him, but you can't show it. I assume he's still under contract, I wonder if they're going to keep him around? It's probably the smart move for him to eat the shit sandwich and stick around if the option is available to him.

Contracts will be out of his hands
Will they be though? We have a guy who handles them, but I think he does it via protocol, not value. For example, when Reggie was here we were obsessed with roster bonuses, and never signing. When Mayock was here, we just piled up money. With Ziegler we often had repeating numbers, such as salary matching roster bonuses. Delaney's a compliance guy, not a value guy.

Zero opinion on this. Of course Charger fan hates him. Which means nothing.

What is next? Todd Haley as HC? Since Mark is hiring every failed division rival personnel.

on the flip side, if someone with experience is available, there's usually a reason why.
Very true, I could be wrong but the GM carousel isn’t quite the same as the HC one where they just bounce from team to team.
I don’t really know the track records of GM’s on their 2nd or 3rd team as GM.

Where else is he gonna go ?

Only thing I’ll say about this that he don’t coach and all those assets he got the coach were injured. But the downside is they all seem to have a knack for getting injured. Hopefully this falls heavily on the strength and conditioning department and we secretly got the good rather than the bad.

Now I gotta go watch that Telesco talking about the movie Draft Day video somebody posted....

Did their talent level actually improve from Week 18 2021? Or did they win the offseason only to turn into paper tigers due to poor roster construction?

On the flip side, I'd at least rather have a 1st time HC and a vet GM than a 1st time GM and a middling retread HC. Still think Mark's logic is stupid though. If experience is needed, bring Telesco in as an adviser or even that stupid Football Ops role.

I think the GM and Football Ops roles are ambiguous in Vegas though. Ziegler was the GM, but also the highest-ranking football guy in the organization. Depending on how things actually get assigned/delegated, it may just be semantics in terms of what Telesco's actual role is.

I think a better coach would have gotten more out of that roster. I know he picked the coach in theory, but at one point Staley was a wiz kid hot commodity. Once the decision was made, I doubt there was a serious chance of firing him early if what people say about LAC's ownership is true.

Maybe introduce Champ as president of football ops ?
