Welcome to the team - Nakobe Dean

Or they could send us their play caller.

That type of success rate on minimal pass rushes (27) seems more about timing and how you set the play up than flat out pass rush prowess. Otherwise, they would have sent him more often. Not saying he's not good at it, just that I think Philly was pretty smart with their usage of him.
Easier to ignore the linebacker when you are dealing with Carter and Davis up front too.

SpyGuy slotted Dean (3Y-$12M per) where Chi paid Edmunds (4Y-$12M per) in ‘23, and NYG paid Edmunds this year (3Y-$12M per). It’s a fair comp but Dean needs to stay healthy:
  • Edmunds (28) 775 snaps, 3.7% SIS, 66.4 PFF
  • Dean (25) 389 snaps, 6.2% SIS, 61.7 PFF

Two year SIS Dean (25) v. Spillane (30) comp:
  • Spillane: 30 starts, 1735 snaps, 4.4% SIS, $11M per
  • Dean: 23 starts, 1204 snaps, 5.0% SIS, $12M per
Last year, PFF plainly preferred Spillane (76.3) over Dean (61.7). And Spillane has historically been less injury prone.

SpyGuy paid $1M per year more to get 5 years younger. Then paid his buddy Walker (25) to replace Deablo (27), who SpyGuy did not pay either but who played well for Atl. I like the pairing of two 25 year old LB.

On the surface it’s a nice pairing of LB’s that are both young. Both need to remain healthy as you said and that’s not been the calling card for Dean especially. We definitely need to draft a LB on day 3 at some point.

Before Spillane, we had years of bad LB’ering. We reverted to that last year. At least SpyGuy apparently values the position now.

Some draft mocks had us picking LB Golday from Cincy. That was before FA and the 3-4 news

Did not know this: Dal’s new DC, Parker, was Philly’s passing game coordinator and DB’s coach last year. That was among the reasons many thought he’d sign with Dal, especially since Dal basically had the same $ on the table and he signed before Balt reneged. Big get for SpyGuy, KK and Leonard, who hired Dean’s former assistant LB coach as the Raiders’ LB coach.

Chefs
  • Bolton: 965 snaps, 3.0% SIS, 78.9 PFF

Donks:
  • Strnad: 535 snaps, 4.7% SIS, 76.0 PFF

Notes:
  1. Dean needs to stay healthy
  2. Walker needs to play better football
  3. Chefs & Donks have good ILB duos
  4. Dolts need to replace Perryman

@Sleet should just spell that one out every time since everyone asks it even after he explains it. I know he's said what it is at least four or five times, and fuck if I know what it is

Last time me and my buddy rode through we showed the bartender what a Harvey Wallbanger was. He liked it so much, he decided to promote Wallbanger Wednesdays, since that was the day of the week we wandered in ...lol
