Pretty sure Mike still thinks a two way edge setting DE is the way to go. Took a swing at nabbing one with Cleopatra. Remember when Cleo would be the guy that would never lead the league in sacks but would reliably put up 8-10 sacks a year ? Swing and a miss.
Let's face it, twitchy edge rushers have always had great value on 3rd downs and in passing situations, but they're not nearly quite as valuable when they can't stop the run, especially on downs when the offense is just as likely to run as it is to pass.
Two way DEs will always be the way to go, problem is finding them.
