Welcome to the team Klint Kubiak

We lose at home to Mia, sky will fall.
I just want to look like we have some sort of plan this year. I don't expect a very successful season if we base it off wins and losses. I don't want to see Tyler fucking Lockett out there over our rookies or some similar shit in the hopes of winning one or two games to save some coaches their jobs. I do think Kubiak actually has some job security and will look long term with this thing, especially with Mendoza... and that's what I want.

I agree.

But pressure will mount from press and pundits to play Mendoza, since it’s rarely seen anymore that a first overall pick doesn’t play year 1

The owner has repeatedly stated the kid needs to sit as has the HC who knows his job is secured for half a decade. Pressure from the media won’t matter when they know they can’t throw mendoza into the week 4-11 gauntlet.

Also Kirk isn’t Geno he isn’t gonna go out there and he the worst qb in the league

:wtf1: We haven't had the same coach for 5 years since Shell's first stint and not a single one under Mark's tenure.
Hope we do keep him that long though.

Looking at Kubiak’s staff, not sure either coordinator is in line for a HC job. And Dennison will transition once a younger OL coach becomes available, seems to me. Yes, this coaching staff appears better than what we’ve seen in the past. Kubiak and Dennison might be the only all stars, however.

I want to be positive you know... just this team has a little bit of history.

The first 2 decades were the opposite of the last 2 decades. Getting back to middle 2 decades in terms of performance would be a start.

When was the last time we hired a coach that was regarded as elite and the top coach available

I forgot which one it was from the Raider show with Eric Allen but they were bitching about him standing this close to the QBs in drills lol.

Josh McDaniels was certainly thought to be that in some circles.
Kubes has only been a coordinator so I'm not sure he can be considered elite as a HC.
I'm certainly more bullish on Kubiak but I've been disappointed by this team too many times to say it's a given that he will work out.

Kubiak at least hasn't crashed and burned elsewhere and isn't known for being a total douche.

As long as he isn't a complete fuck up, he is going to get a few years to try to build this roster. I think the organization is committed to doing it the right way and not the revolving door of coaches we have had the past 20 years. Glad KK's not one of these rah rah coaches like Gruden or Pete. I don't think he's playing around. Whether he has the ability to lead the locker room remains to be seen. We know he's a very good OC.
