Pete just completely forgot how to coach eh? I think the reality has to fall somewhere in the middle. This roster sucks and the rookies get a fresh start but they need to prove they belong.

I'm not disagreeing the roster sucks but he didn't do these guys any favors either. There was definitely a divide amongst the coaching ranks. You know players aren't going to openly come out and bash Pete (there were comments made by players anonymously) but you know inside that locker room the team is probably elated to have KK here.

Sounds like you are making an argument that Pete should have been retained.
Point to the roster and say they sucked is also true, but Pete had his hand in that as well. A perfect storm for a tank.

I can't get behind the notion that he completely forgot how to coach and nothing is on the players themselves. Last year was obviously a shitshow and a house cleaning was in order. Once we secured the #1 pick our options for hiring coaches opened up as well.

We have some dud players who are getting a free pass for 2025 using coaching as excuse. PG stunk as a defensive coordinator but Arnette and most of Mayock's picks never flashed talent. 3-14 involves poor players and coaching.

I feel like these guys need a mulligan. The disconnect between the FO and the coaching staff was massive. Spy wanted something very different than what Carroll wanted. None of those guys guys got snaps because Pete wanted to win now…as evident by the Lockett signing. That was total bullshit.

I’m tired of declaring guys busts if they don’t produce year one. Bech was probably a bit of a stretch going in the second round, but the coaching staff did him zero favors. If he’s “meh” after year 3, I’ll be ok moving on from him and labeling him a bust.

Yeah the truth is likely somewhere in the middle. Most of the time labelling a guy a bust is a safe bet for us. Its usually a safe bet lol.

I definitely dont see the Puka Nacua or Cooper Kupp comparisons (Because obviously slow white WRs are all close in ability lmfao). Hopefully he becomes a contributor. That would be a pleasant surprise.
