Welcome to the team Klint Kubiak

If any fan here is positive about any draft pick you say they were fitting them for a gold jacket.

Can't we just have some hope without this nonsense?

Fernando. We can be positive about Fernando.

All good to be excited about a draft pick. I loved the Bech pick but he hasn't shown shit.
As bad as our OL was last year the guys we are propping up here as decent back ups as a floor couldn't get on the field. I just think given our track record that's an assumption I'm not willing to agree on.
Hope they turn out to be studs but TWT.

I think we all hope there are a bunch of studs on the roster. We deserve it as a fanbase.

If one of Bech or Thornton becomes half as good as Raider fan predicted we will be fine.

I’m looking forward to watching:
  1. One of if not the best 12 personnel trio in the NFL (Bowers, Mayer and Jeanty);
  2. How Kubiak toggles between 11 personnel, 12 personnel and other heavier sets (13, 21 and 22 personnel) with Heyward and Thomas and even Bowers at FB; and
  3. Which WR step up in Kubiak’s bunch and spread formations (Tucker, Nailor, Bech, Thornton, Benson, etc.), especially in the redzone.
If past is prologue, Kubiak will pass out of heavier sets more than 11 personnel to dictate matchups and coverages (assuming he can get the running game going). I’m hoping this is the year Jeanty and Mayer earn their draft positions and compensate for the Raiders’ no-name but speedy WR corp. Running the rock is a Kubiak staple.

Pete and his staff were incompetent. I don't put any weight in the fact that they didn't get on the field or that they couldn't produce in the limited snaps they got in Chips offense and Geno just made a bad situation even worse.

The two rookie o-lineman couldn't get on the field, and no way could they have been worse than what they were rolling out. JPJ in a battle for playing time well into the season. None of that makes any sense.

With the receivers we had Thorton starting right out of training camp and he didn't even look like he belonged on an NFL field. I'm convinced Thorton was a Pete pick and most of the draft class was used like pawns in a power struggle between Spytek and Pete.

We will find out if there is any upside to these guys this year because they sure didn't get a fair shake last year.
It's almost like we have two rookie classes heading into this year.

Incompetent HOF coach Pete? I get that it was a shitshow. I just can't put it all on that. All of the draft picks that didn't show shit on the field have a lot to prove.

McVey would know what to do with Heywood, Meyer and Bowers.

The reports of throwing a lot of play book at Heywood indicates the toggling will happen and I hope it's from 13 personnel grouping on the field, Meyer, Bowers and Heywood.

God willing Bech can be a part of that and that grouping should open up Jeanty to get isolated on LB'ers in the passing game.

We deserve it to become reality.

:koolaid:

Yes, Pete was completely incompetent. The dudes he brought in were massive failures also, so it was incompetence in all aspects.

The draft picks do have everything to prove, and they will get their opportunity this year.
Let the chips fall where they may...

@Madturk had Bech in the fuckin Hall of fame this time last year. "Puka lite or Kupp lite!"

There is a balance to be found in Raider nation.

Some of these players fuckin suck. Its just part of the deal.

We dont have to suck all their cocks as soon as they put on a black jersey.

Bullshit. I noted they had similar 40 times during their pre draft workouts. Incidentally Bech was not who I wanted prior to the draft. I was hoping for Luther Burden. I also liked the kid from Utah. McMillan was the only one who really stood out from the class but he was a first rounder.

As @Desert Rat alluded to, you're the first one to jump on someone to bash them for liking a player who doesn't fit your criteria. You're not the only one that does it but you definitely do it more than anyone else here. You bitched for a QB and you got him. Now STFU

I can put most of it on the coaching staff. I remember one of the offensive players commenting that they had no clue what they were doing out there. The OL was a complete fucking mess and Carroll and Sons refused to work some of the young guys in until well late in the season .

Bech and the others may very well flame out which I know a lot of you are hoping for so he can prove you right lol, but they already had two strikes going against them before they even took their first snap.

It was a Frankenstein staff. Pete didn’t want (or regretted) Chip as OC, who didn’t want (or regretted) Pete’s son as OL coach. The ST coach Pete hired stunk too. Pete also neutered Graham. While not great, the game at least had not passed Graham by. Compared to McDonald and Mintor, with their disguised looks, or Flores’ blitz-heavy D, Graham’s Pete influenced D was limp. Peter’s refusal to start/play Pratt in favor of the limb dicks SpyGuy and Pete befriended was bad news too. It was an incompetent team.

I'm excited for camp and actually seeing this staff and the players getting to work. My expectations are low this year but I need some football in my life again.

Likely 1-2 more years to develop the players, bring in more kids who dont suck and clear out some final bums. If we do it right we wont have to pretend the shitty picks are good and they will actually be good.

If Fernando is the real deal we should be real excited by this time next year.

Help me Obi-Mayer/Tucker, you’re our only hope (re ‘23 draft).
