Welcome to the team Klint Kubiak

There are a ton of full videos on outside zone with Gibbs. Here is a shorter one only about 8 minutes. It’s amazing how many chop blocks Denver used to do every game. It’s not like we didn’t know it but, looking back on it makes ya cringe all over again for the DL

I remember one of Shanahan's former offensive linemen talking about how they would practice against dummies with red x's painted on the knees specifically to learn how to chop defensive players.

Head Coach Klint Kubiak on the Raiders’ 2026 draft class, the additions of Kirk Cousins and Fernando Mendoza to the quarterback room, Maxx Crosby and more.

A little cocaine wouldn't kill him. That's all I'm saying.

Belichick is probably the least energetic interviewer of all time. Kubiak just doesn’t seem to like doing interviews either. Got a feeling players are just fine with his personality.

I'd prefer that type of personality to a fake "rah rah" type like Pete or Chucky. KK strikes me as a detail oriented, no nonsense type of a coach. If you're not with the program, you aren't going to play. Tyree is a good example.

THE Gipsy Safety
@SGafety
Alex Gibbs talking WZ. How the RB reads the defense as he takes the ball; he's reading a man not looking for open space. Good OL needs to give the RB a good picture.

As noted, Gibbs premised his entire system on cut blocking. That's why all those small O-linemen could churn yards for their RBs -- they could just target their knees.

If the Raiders did anything like that the NFL would have stopped it pronto. As it is, last year's O-line in that system would have let Jeanty run for 1,700 yards.

Of course the back can know where the hole is based on the G/T blocks -- they either moved their men or cut them down.

This has almost nothing to do with what Kubiak runs.

If I ever saw Alex Gibbs I'd fucking stomp on and collapse both his knees -- lo until the fourth generation.

How someone talks the press isn't necessarily an indication of how they are in the locker room. Probably feels that's just a necessary evil part of his job and doesn't enjoy it.
Or maybe he's got the personality of a wet mop and we are fucked. :sunny:
