Welcome to the team Klint Kubiak

Still don’t think I’ve seen any pictures of Tyree there.
He’s plainly the hardest hit with Paye and Koonce’s signings, Maxx’s return and a switch to 3-4 concepts. Guessing he’d prefer to be traded (hahaha) than slide inside full time competing with Hemingway.

He looks like a 3-4 DE to me. He will probably suck at it, but I think it's an opportunity for him.

I am a little surprised that KK had this one in his bag of tricks.

He didn't strike me as that corny.
I like it, they probably don't get the shield until they make the team.
There is a reason some colleges and high schools hand out them little stickers to decorate helmets, it's kind of the same phycological BS at work here.

If anything the slide to a 3-4 makes him a starter. Paye/koonce/maxx as our edge/olb. Booker, Tonka, Wilson, Laulu as our DE. Butler plays all 3 down spots. Pegues similar to butler.

How so?

He doesn't come across as the sharpest pencil in the box.
After his rookie year, reports were he resisted sliding inside. Playing the run inside is different from rushing the QB. If he wanted to be a 3-4 DE, he’d be in the house putting on 10+ lbs of good weight. 6’6”/275” is a little light to do that sort of dirty work, although 6’6”/286 lbs fits McDonald’s D.

Whatever works, but more often than not that corny high school/college stuff doesn't fly with grown men.

There's not a person on this roster that believes Mendoza (for example) isn't going to get his "shield" regardless of the theatrics.

There's a reason why college coaches struggle to translate to the NFL.

Earn your shield lol.

Full Sparano/Cable type rah rah shit. The first Kubiak whiff so far.

I'm sure it will motivate Tyree Wilson and Jackson Powers Johnson to dial it in and not suck/be injured all year.

Grown ass men dont give a flying fuck about that stuff.

Wasn't that around what Justin Smith weighed in that spot for the Harbaugh 49ers?

Not a fan of that one but whatever. I was thinking have I ever seen a succcessful HC use that as a motivational tool, and I can't think of one. I don't even like it in college. I think they call it helmet stickers in college.
