That’s Schefty code for, ‘I got that info fromKK’s agent. He’s gonna be the Raiders HC. But for public consumption - and to not get the Raiders in trouble for breaking NFL tampering rules - I gotta sanitize it up and word it like this’

And it’s a referendum of sorts for our brass. We can talk ALLLL DAY about bumbling Mark and some of it is well deserved. But he was trying to hire a good coach *without* the number one thing most coaches look for: a QB.

Because for all the perceived bumbling of our upper management, this shows we just never really had a QB to attract anybody. Shit…for as hard as Brady worked LY to get Ben Johnson…if you drop Caleb Williams on our roster and give Chicago Minshew or Geno. Ben’s a Raider today.

So we get a QB (Fernando) and even with a ‘sub-mid’ roster…we got an upper tier coach this cycle. Amazing how that works.

Call me cynical but I don't think this gets done, if the Raiders don't have the #1 pick in the draft with Mendoza waiting in the wings.

This is why you don't win meaningless games in December if you are a perennial basement dweller.

P.S. Let's hope this latest development ushers in an era where meaningless games in December are no longer a thing.

I have to admit it's the best case scenario with what we know now.

3 years down the road we could be carrying a load in our pants of course because we are Raiderfan, but today is a positive day... even better if Mark could refrain from showing that face at the press conference
