Welcome to the team... Jakobi Meyers

all of them because none of them will come play for us

Have to put him around Deebo level, no?

I wonder if it's about the guarantees. You can pay him less if you guarantee him two additional years. Double his salary this year and then add 2 years guaranteed of $40mm. That's $50mm guaranteed. By that time he's 30 and Bech should hopefully be up to speed.

in general, if people are offering you better comp, then it's silly not to.

How would it even work though? Is it just the actual cash payout or does the Raiders picking up some of the bill translate to cap relief for the receiving team? Either way, it seems like a weird request when presumably that team would have to be re-doing his contract anyway.

I’d offer two choices to Meyers to stay here.

1. Bring him up this year to 18 million to keep him happy.

2. Offer him a two year 34 million GTD with the ability to make up to 42 million over the two years. (Provided contractually we can do that shit)

Otherwise I would hold out on getting at least a 4th round pick and a player.

I think the trade comp would be minimal.

He's a nice player but not someone you give up anything significant for, especially if you also have to pay him.

Ya then it’s not worth trading him. He could have a solid year and potentially sign a nice deal next year and fetch a comp pick of a 4th rounder.

It's a cold world, but that's probably the most prudent strategy.

I guess it really comes down to what his expectations actually are.

it'd provide cap relief and cash relief, yeah
